  • A parents MUST HAVE!
Color: Xbox Style: Stinger
I don't know anything about gaming equipment. My teenage son asked for this headset so he could talk to his gaming friends online while playing... he LOVES it. I LOVE it because I don't have to hear all the gaming sounds... just my son lol. This was right at the beginning of summer. (I always wait to write reviews to really use whatever I'm reviewing). We haven't had any issues with it at all, and trust me, it's been well used! ... show more

  • nice headset
Color: Xbox Style: Stinger
second time I've bought this kind, and I'll likely be back once this one reaches its end. the first one lasted about two years, and actually still works (just the mic piece is a bit loose and doesn't pick up audio sometimes, though this is likely cuz it wasn't always treated with care)

  • Got for my Xbox Series S and had some drawbacks, got a different HyperX headset instead
Color: Xbox Style: Stinger
I got this to use on my Xbox Series S AUDIO: 1 star Lower bass tones were just too emphasized and higher treble came in like I was always inside of a tunnel (may be an exaggeration to some as I use Bose headphones outside of gaming so my ears are used to higher quality audio). It was clear and I could hear directional footsteps and such but the mixing always felt really off to me and pushed me out of immersion pretty easily. After some hours of playing I noticed that my characters dialogue felt like it was weighted towards one side. Did some testing and discovered that the left side was louder than the right. Sometimes it would go away but it always came back. Mic: 3 stars Works as intended with Xbox. Nothing amazing. Friends said I sounded clear but the quality was nothing to really write home about. I would have rated this higher if not for the unfortunate downside of it not working with Discord voice chat. And yes I did mess with all the settings. I found that others had this problem as well. I do like the swivel to mute function. BUILD: 3.5 stars It's a decent chunk of plastic and I mean that in a good way. For an entry level headset these are pretty solidly built. The plastic doesn't feel cheap and holding it I feel like it could take a beating (unlike Turtle Beaches that feel like I could crush them with even a slight grip). The rotating ear cups are a nice addition and don't feel like they will snap when you rotate them. For the price the durability seems good. I didn't keep them for long at all but first impressions gave me the feeling they're not fragile at the least. I did not like the volume control button, specifically the way it functions (indifferent about it's placement on the ear cup). The slider for the volume doesn't slide smoothly and has stops for 5 or 6 levels of volume but when I was adjusting the volume each time I went over a bump it actually caused some static. I would have heavily preferred the volume slider to slide smoothly. COMFORT: 5 stars This is where most of the stars came from. These are VERY comfortable. I sport the Bose QC35II on a daily basis and while these definitely don't feel as good as those, they are pretty darn close. The ear cups don't sit tight, the headband isn't pinching your head, the foam ear cups are pretty soft. I believe these are definitely worth the price in this category. I ended up returning these and opted to actually get a different HyperX headset. The HyperX CloudX (which I believe is actually the same as the Cloud I and Cloud II just without all the extra accessories). I will be leaving a review there but will say that they are a 5* headset for me at $69.99. ... show more
