  • Just about everything you need in one compact package
Color: Gray
This Adapter / dongle works great for travel or remote working. I think this is much more convenient that looking through my bag for a specific dongle such as a USB Type C to USB Type A or SD Card Reader, etc. I can pull out this one adapter and know I have all the bases handled. This adapter offers most of all the ports I need on the go and allows pass-through charging. Plus, I like that this adapter connects directly to and matches the aesthetic of a recent MacBook Pro 15-inch laptop. I use a Roost stand with my laptop when working remote and find other adapters with an attached short USB Type C cable are not optimal for this set-up. The cord on the other adapters I have tried do not reach to the table, so the adapter dangles in the air and creates an odd mid-air place to connect and dis-connect peripherals. This HyperDrive adapter acts like an extension of the computer. The main con I have for this adapter is that it does not have ethernet. I see that HyperDrive makes one with ethernet, but to achieve the taller port they add a pop-up extension. I like the form factor of this unit much better. Since, I use this adapter on the go, I rarely need ethernet anyway. For my desk at home and the office, I have Thunderbolt 3 docks that I tied into my wired networks. Also another con is that I find common to all the adapters I have tried is that only one incoming USB Type C port carries the full charging capabilities to the host computer. Since all the adapters I have seen have this limitation, I really can't knock this one for having the same. It must be a technical limitation. Overall, this may be one dongle to rule them all LOL. ... show more

  • Also works for M2 Macbooks!
Color: Silver
I originally bought this hub for an Intel Macbook Air and it worked reliably well. I upgraded to an M2 Air recently and thought I'd have to buy a new hub, since the manufacturer doesn't list the M2 as a compatible device. Color me surprised that this works with my new M2! It's worth noting that this hub covers the MagSafe port, so you'll need to use a USB-C cable to charge it. Apple finally had the good sense to carry over the design of the USB-C ports from Intel to the newer Macs! ... show more

  • Looks good, adds great functionality, could be a little better for top end users.
Color: Gray
This seems to be high quality, very portable and adds a lot of functionality, to a An expensive laptop that has become quite incompatible with almost all accessories /: The fit & feel looks nice, but the USB 3.0 ports are very tight. It’s quite difficult to unplug accessories without unplugging/disrupting the whole doc. If you have a case on your laptop, the product depth is short & will be “floating” above table, making it a bit suspect to let the USB-C ports supporting all load. The load should matter except when plugging & unplugging accessories. I think the look is handsome with no cable, but the practicality (& maybe longevity) are a bit suspect. I would prefer one with a cable attachment between the computer & dock, but Hyper doesn’t offer one, that supplies the proper power for the larger laptops. I have the 16” MBP & was told by their support department that this is the only one supplying proper power. I also wish this doc had an Ethernet port, like many others. They do offer several options w/ Ethernet, but Only for smaller (lower power) laptops. Those options do include a cable option & so likely they would be a 5 star solution, for those w/ less power hungry models. ... show more

  • Exactly what I needed for 2019 MacBook Air and 2010 LED Cinema Display
Color: Gray
If you have been looking for something to connect your MacBook Air to your old LED Cinema Display, this is the product for you! I purchased 4 different dongles, and none of the dongles I purchased worked. Apparently, there is difficulty in the USB-C chipset to properly convert video through a Mini Display Port. For all of the dongles I purchased, I couldn't get a maximum resolution of 1200x700. I did a workaround for a few days using an HDMI to Mini Display Port, but even with that fix the LED Cinema Display would not wake up when I would wake up the MacBook Air (I like to use both monitors together). In any case, everything apparently is working perfectly! I even purchased a Magsafe to USB-C connector to get all of the utility out of the monitor. So thankful I finally got what I needed! ... show more

  • It Just Works
Color: Gray
I bought this item because I wanted more than just what the MacBook pro gave. I got 4 USB-C ports, but Iʻm always doing more. Iʻm editing video: This has micro-SD and SD card reading capability. I can download video from the drone or Osmo pocket (micro). Download from my mirrorless and DSLR cameras (SD Card). I can recharge items either USB-C or USB. I connect my external drives, phones to my MBPro. I havenʻt used the HDMI yet, but everything else; I can connect and go. I am a little scared because itʻs only the USB-C connect into the computer, but computer has been stable in one place and the connection is solid; but knowing itʻs only two small pieces of metal securing it to the laptop is a little disconcerting. Itʻs a GREAT piece of hardware which Iʻm using just about every day. ... show more

  • DEFECTIVE PRODUCT: Causes my Mac OS Ventura 2019 MacBook Pro to Lock Keyboard and Force Restart
Color: Gray
I was very excited when I first purchased this item, I had researched this hub extensively and thought it was a good buy. However, I've noticed that any time that my Late 2019 16-inch MacBook Pro locks my screen, or I unplug my Mac from the hub while the laptop is still turned on I LOSE ALL CONTROL OF MY KEYBOARD AND MOUSE, FORCING ME TO HARD RESTART. This has happened consistently at least a dozen times now. I had hoped that the new MacOS updates might resolve this but this has not been the case. All other USB C devices and connections I own work fine with my laptop so it is definitely this hub. I am in the process if returning this hub, and I will be discontinuing use of this item as it is clearly detrimental to the longevity of my MacBook Pro to continue to hard restart it with such frequency. I am incredibly disappointed in this item and would not advise anyone running my model of MacBook Pro to purchase it. ... show more
