Let’s face it as long as your heater is working you kind of set it and forget it. I noticed my old heater died on me one morning it was about a 4yr old hygger product. So I upgraded my heater to this and love it! The lcd screen for temp control is great and easy to read. This heater doesn’t need a thermostat probe hanging in the water like the older models do, it has a thermostat built into the heater so you don’t have a second wire running into your tank which I thought was a great upgrade. So far this does it’s job with no complaints I run a pretty warm tank for aquatic turtles ~84F and the heater has no issues keeping my tank up to temp. Would definitely recommend again.

I’m giving this a 4 star because mine completely burned a hole through it. DO NOT LAY THIS ON ITS SIDE. The company was extremely helpful and replaced it free of charge. But you have to be sure to see the small print on the side of the heater. It says to not cover up a “hole” which I don’t see what hole they’re referring to. This should be in BIG BOLD LETTERS. I honestly think I’m lucky it didn’t cause a fire because although the heating element wasn’t working, the reader read it was at 90+ degrees trying to kick the temp of the tank up to the 83 I had it set at. I feel very lucky that my fish are alive. This is a really great heating element. But do be careful. This happened only have 2 months of use. Be sure you hang the heater. Do not let it fall to the floor like I did. User error. I would give it 5 stars but due to the small print that lead to the user error, I am giving it 4. That could have been really bad. But again, the customer service was great. I contacted the company directly over amazon. They didn’t require the old one back. Super helpful. Update: The seller reached out to me and assured me (even though they haven’t seen the unit) that the heating element couldn’t and wouldn’t cause a fire. They did issue me a full refund and sent me a replacement. I am keeping this a 4 star review because it did fail after 2 months and appears to have burned the unit. What has saved this from getting a 1 Star is the customer service. They did refund me and sent me a replacement. I will update this review in a few months after trying the replacement they sent me. I wasn’t going to risk it, but they have been very adamant that their heater would not cause a fire and that this is the first time they’ve had this complaint. I stand by my original statement. MAKE SURE this unit doesn’t get knocked down to the floor of the tank. There is small print instructing you to not cover a hole. I don’t know if that is what caused my heater to malfunction, but it’s the only thing I can think of.

This heater replaced two of my smaller heaters that could not keep my tank a consistent temperature. This heater had the tank heated very quickly and has held a constant temperature ever since I got it. Will be purchasing more for my other tanks.

I chose the 500W after careful review. It worked like a charm. At about seven months it suddenly stopped functioning. I sent an email to the service team and received a response immediately. I was able to provide the description of the problem, picture and order details. I received such a kind response and was sent a replacement without any problem whatsoever. My new replacement went into action immediately and is working perfectly. Such gracious service and a quality product. Bravo!!!

The Heater is very easy to use. Temperature fluctuates within 2 degrees. However, value for the money: mine has only lasted about 18 months. I really liked the heater so I bought it again. This time it lost communication and malfunctioning code told me to replace. This last one lasted 16 months. I’m not sure how long large heaters are supposed to last.

This was low maintenance, east to use, read and adjust. Good fit for my 90 gallon tank. It stopped working after 2 years, maybe because design allowed inevitable crud to gum it up. I just replaced it with the new version, which looks designed to prevent it at least slow that.
