The light is thin, bright and looks nice. You can dim and brighten the light for your aquarium needs. I like the features of the light. The diffrent run times of 6-8-12 hour is a cool feature. Blue for six hours, green for eight hours, and red for twelve hours (should have LEDs to light up the numbers 6-8 or 12 not diffrent colors"). First off, the build quality and construction of this device is perfect. However, I think the brightest setting may be too bright for a turtle's eyes so I'm glad there are a few levels of brightness to choose from. The instructions are rather hard to follow and I'm not sure how/if the timer feature works. I don't mind changing the settings manually though so I am pretty pleased with this product. I have a 20 gallon freshwater tank with about eight fish and live plants. This light makes the entire tank bright, has a great timer, and my plants are growing like crazy. I did have to take the top off in order to use it but I think you could probably use a glass lid under it if you wanted.

Plenty of light and easy to adjust & use. Rated the timer down because it has 6, 8 and 12 hr functions only - I wouldn't ever use 6 or 8 hour settings, but ! would use a 16hr setting if it had one
