By using high grade material with 18mil thickness and a 14 x 14 weave, double re-enforcing all corners, heat sealing a thick rope along the hem of all outer edges, and using the highest quality aluminum grommets, Watershed Innovations delivers a high quality product. HydraTarp Premium 18 mil Watershed Innovations was founded in 2008 with the goal of creating user-friendly products that protect valuable property and land from water damage. All HydraTarps are FULL Sized Tarps Meaning this tarp will measure at least the stated length. We don't cut corners, all HydraTarps are produced with higher cost virgin material. We stay away from cost reduced recycled materials to provide our customers with a product designed to last for many years! This is our top of the line tarp, 18 mil thick with D-Rings sewn in to the corners and selectively on the sides. Corrosive free grommets every 18" and UV protective coating applied on both sides, this tarp is built to last. The corner of a Tarp is the most vulnerable section. Instead of fitting a small rubber piece to the corners, we sew an extra layer of material to each corner adding significant strength. We also sew D-Rings in to all corners for additional strength. We heat seal a thick nylon rope along all the edges of our tarps. This minimizes tarp shearing and tearing as the material wears and adds significant overall strength to the covering. This is not a thin piece of string but a formidable nylon rope. Aluminum Grommets spaced at 18" intervals (instead of 24"). These additional grommets provide more tie down options and spread the stress over a greater area for less stress per grommet. Reversible White / Brown Heavy Duty Material and Enhanced Features Each HydraTarp Premium Duty waterproof tarp is built with heavy duty fabric weighing 10 oz per square yard with a 18 mil thickness and a 14x14 cross weave.     • Impressed Strongest tarp ever!
I used this tarp to cover my metal building roof while raining until repairs could get made. I ratched it under the building, used rope and magnets...everything was right. This review isn't fair to the tarp, the strongest for its size, I was impressed. Well it didn't hold up to Colorado winds. I know it wasn't designed to do what I did and it didn't work. BUT I will be using the tarp for a work space cover and should do fine. Props to the designers, but 70mph gusts? just awful. ... show more

    • Almost got it right

This tarp is plenty thick and fairly well made. They sewed through the straps holding the D-rings and the thread was sewn in a pattern that cut through the strap. Also the strap was too thin for this duty. Strap tore off the first time I tugged on it. All the straps subsequently failed too with moderate force. Other than the d-rings the tarp has held up fairly well. Could've used extra reinforcement at the grommets as well. The grommets do not match the toughness of the rest of the tarp. ... show more

This is my second tarp. I have a classic RV that has been parked outside for the past 13 years. Keeping a good tarp over it has been a challenge. on average a regular "blue tarp" would barley last one year. The first tarp from this company I bought easily lasted over two years. The two biggest factors that take out tarps are wind and sun. I bough my second tarp early this spring (March of 25). It has been on just over 9 months now. This tarp seems to be failing rather quickly due to sunshine damage (UV). Not thinking I'll get two whole years out of this one. Not sure why the difference. Maybe this one did not have any UV blocker on it... ??? ... show more

Nice and thick. Has held up excellent in southern Nevada wind. Added 1" webbing to perimeter with hog rings to add rigidity. Used it on a 10x20 easy up frame with a little mod to the frame and tarp. 3m spray on Contact cement works great for wrapping the corners. A damn sight cheaper to. The original canopy only lasted a year, I think this will hold up better and is about$500 cheaper. ... show more

    • Very disappointed - disintergrating
Bought this to cover and keep the rain off of a covered boat while in outdoor storage during for a few months. Granted, this is in the Florida sun but after only 4 months of use this tarp is disintegrating. The white (coating?) turns into an almost powder. I discovered this when I took it off the boat then carried it home in the back of my 4 Runner. Tiny white pieces covered the black rear deck and took hours to clean up I've owned many tarps over the years, including smaller white ones that spend more time than this outdoors and never have I had one disintegrate like this did. Perhaps if you use this tarp for indoor, out of the sun coverage it may last longer but I would not recommend for outdoor use. A waste of money as far as I am concerned. ... show more

I may not be putting it through the most brutal conditions compared to others, but my experience is positive since I expected that any tarp would only last well through two seasons before needing to be replaced. I use it to cover the roof of my 22 foot RV trailer. I secure it by using every 2nd or 3rd grommet around the periphery of the tarp. It goes on around the end of October and comes off in April or May of each year. It has been through three winters and is now more than halfway through a fourth in the Chicago area. Admittedly, the sun intensity is nothing like the Southern states and is even less intense during the winter months here (and I know sunlight/UVs degrades these things), but we have certainly had a number of nasty windstorms during these times, and no part of the tarp has ripped (after three winters, and as far as I can tell during this winter while it is still in place on the roof). I also included lots of photos of the installation in case you'd like some pointers on how to secure it in a similar way, to both protect the tarp from stresses as well as protect your RV or vehicle from scratches from the attaching ropes and such. These mods are naturally based on lessons learned after the first few seasons accumulating scratches (!) ... show more

Similar to other reviews, my tarp has about a 3" x 36" stripe where the tarp looks stretched or not properly manufactured. There are 2 slits from the defect. Had snow coming the night it arrived, so I had to deal with it. Would expect better QC for a $180 tarp.
