To be honest, the carb itself did not work out for me. After replacing my old, perfectly working, carb and installing this HUTZL, I only encountered problems. I only needed to other parts: fuel line, air and gas filters, and gaskets. But I figured a new carb would be good too. Unfortunately, I had to re-use the old carb to get things working. HOWEVER, I decided to contact HUTZL and they responded faster than any seller on Amazon. And they took good care of the problem. I'll come back to see if I can tweak this carb to get it working after trimming season.

Runs perfectly now! The cost was a fraction of the price Stihl wanted for a replacement. I did have to remove the throttle cable anchor point, mine is different ( Z bar anchor) took 1 minute. My FS38 line trimmer runs as good ,even maybe a little better than when new. Well worth the $16!!!!

Just installed this on my Stihl FS 38 trimmer. I watched a YouTube video on how to replace it and it went on perfectly. I did reuse the factory gaskets because the new ones looked a little different. After installing and setting the choke it started on the second pull and ran great! I did screw in the lower idle screw to slow down the trimmer head so it wouldn’t spin at idle. I then held the throttle wide open and turned the upper mixture screw on the top let counter clockwise a 1/4 turn and that really made it run strong. Every engine will be a little different but this slight adjustment of the screws made it run perfectly. If you are not mechanically inclined with tuning it would have still worked fine right out of the box.

Works absolutely perfectly. Everything assembled quickly. It comes with extra fuel filters, primer bulbs and extra fuel lines. UNFORTUNATELY, the air filter is too thick so the cover won't close. I will keep it and just buy an alternate air filter.

The media could not be loaded. bought this huztl and the hipa both. went with instinct, huztl to install. stihl fs 38 after 12 years? 2013 or so, carb problems, couldnt get it to tun but only on half 3/4 choke hitting the prime bulb make it run. had starting problem while back n brought it to john deere mechanic. took half choke start gave problems after words, but said just replace the carb, "they're cheap". did that 2 years later 👍. installed this on fs 38. 100% nice, after install, etc run blah, whacked the yard, had to lower the idle, no problem at all doin that. bring it to a dat dat dat sound, you're all good. idle is L adjustment.. photos n vid in review.
