I can't falt them for it not fitting my snow blower. I like the looks of all the parts. I have a 44" John Deere ride on lawn mower attachment. The impeller is plastic and there are plastic braces on the back side of it so you can't bolt on the rubber pads. Still give it 4 stars, everything looks good.

Very effective way to increase throw - take your time installing to get it right the first time.

I have a 30 year old 555 Simplicity 5.5 hp 21" snow blower. It had a poor throw of about 6 ft and even less if the snow was wet. With this kit, it went to 20 feet when discharge in the direction of the impeller spin. It increased to about 10 ft when discharged in the opposite direction of the spin, though this probably is due to poorly designed chute curve. The impeller was "U" shaped with 2" on bottom and 1" on each arm. I cut the rubber to 3", the made a 1/8" slice on one side at 1" from edge so I could match the bottom and back arm of the impeller. Be careful to line up and stack the rubbers so all the holes align and the slope of the leading rubber edge match. In my case the impeller was braced with a steel plate under each impeller so I had to properly select the hole location to miss the brace plate and align with the curve. Measure and plan ahead! The included self tapping screws quickly drilled through my 1/8" steel plate in 5-10 seconds. I had to enlarge the hole with 1/4" drill and finally with 5/16" so the bolts fit easily. When I miss-placed the hole, I used a rat tail file to compensate. The first blade took some time because of my mistakes, the last blade was only a few minutes. I did find my impeller was not exactly centered in the cowling so I had one high spot; nevertheless, with use, the rubber wore to match the shape. It has worked great.

How to install on an Ariens 624 compact...

I never got an answer when I asked if it would fit an Ariens compact, but decided to give it a go. I have a 2008 vintage ST624 (I think) and the impeller is much narrower. I turned this 90 degrees and it fit nicely. The width seemed perfect when placed horizontally. I cut the rubber and metal with a table saw and appropriate blades. I installed the upper bolt and then had to drill a hole in the center for the second bolt and use some longer bolts that I had as the stock bolts aren't long enough due to the depression in the center. .I trust all of the reviews describing how well it works, but haven't been able to test it in snow yet. I did fire up the unit. A lot of rubber was wearing off inside, but that should break in.

Huge improvement

I live in the Northeast we just got hammered with about 12" of wet heavy snow on 17 Dec 22. My blower wouldn't have worked on this type snow if it wasn't for this kit. Last year the wet stuff would just flop out in slush bricks but with this kit it threw 20 feet away (yep I measured) last year with dry snow I was lucky to get 10'. Well worth the price and simple to install with the correct tools.

I have a 40 year old snow blower that struggled to move snow 4ft. With this, it easily clears the edge of the driveway so I don't have to re-blow it. I have a 3 paddle system and my 2nd stage was pretty narrow so I was able to cut 2x of them in half to get them to work. Still works great. Much better. It'll get a couple more years out of my snow blower.

I watched several YouTube videos on how to install these and they helped make it easier. I had to cut them down to fit which took a little bit, but after they were installed my blower threw snow at least twice as far as it had . Great product.

Beware of impeller gap

After installing the first impeller pad it was determined that the pad wuld not turn in discharge tube therefore the kits was not suitible for my snowblower. Therefore be sure the gap of impeller is more then1/2 inch
