  • the mower acts as if it does not have enough power in short grass it runs jerky
while mowing the mower starts to jump along as a jerking movement even if the grass isn't thick, would like to return but shipping would be out too much

  • Deck is too low
As other reviews have noted the mowing deck cuts much too low and the company has no suggestions for a solution. I ended up buying just slightly bigger, front rims and tires and it helps significantly. You can adjust the deck to make it level but it’s not perfect. The issue with larger front tires is when you turn the mowing deck rides up on the front tire just a little bit but I’ve gotten used to it. I’ve had my Husqvarna for 10 years and mechanically never had a problem. Just change the oil and it runs great, very reliable ... show more

  • Great power, Hydro transmission great forward and backward, deck fine if you clean after use.
This mower starts up perfectly if rabbit/choke setting used properly, cuts perfectly and yes, the deck height is adjustable from 1 to 6. I know this for a fact because I go to 6 when mowing weeds over nasty big rocks without fail and as low as 2 to get the low stuff. If you clean the mulch off the bottom of deck once in a while, it does perfectly. This things with hydro transmission will mow 5 mph forward and 3 mph backwards. If you find this mower underpowered, may I recommend a John Deere Tractor? This 724 cc engine is powerful. When I bought this last year, 2021, it may have been older model, but availability across the US was horrible. I was lucky to find this model at that time and I hope to have for many years to come. ... show more

  • Decent
I noticed a lot of complaints about a couple quirks with this mower and I've had the exact same issues. However I bought mine second hand and I'm a pretty good mechanic so I'm fine dealing with it. If you paid full price brand new I can see how you would be irritated. First of all mine was very hard to start, crank and crank and nothing. I figured out it's very simple fix the cable just came out of adjustment (stretched over time) and it was no longer activating the choke. That's my other complaint, I also own a Kohler engine version of this mower and it has a manual choke, this one just has it built into the throttle control. Anyways I fixed that and it fires right up no issues. The next common complaint has to do with the deck. This 2 blade deck is definitely leaves a lot to be desired from my 3 blade deck on my older Kohler Husqvarna. Overall you can tell they tried to cut some corners save some money from the older versions. The deck will scalp the crap out of your yard if you're not careful. My other one has a wheel in the middle to prevent this but this one does not. Also I've had trouble with the belt it keeps falling off, it burnt up and had to replace it when I've never touched the belt on my older one. The other main difference is this has a CVT drive and my older one is hydrostatic drive. I'm sure the hydrostatic one is more durable in the long term but the cvt hasn't given me any issues yet. Only complaint is the reverse is very slow. My hydrostatic Husqvarna has a pretty fast reverse while this one is so slow. It might be faster going forward though or at least about the same. I don't think I would attempt to pull a little trailer behind this one though without fear of hurting the cvt. So overall I bought my second Husqvarna because I'm familiar with it but turned out to be a completely different mower than my older (2012) one that I'm used to. This is definitely the result of trying to increase profits and cut corners but still an ok mower ... show more

  • Don't even think about getting this mower...
This mower has a design fault which is very well documented online. Do a search on this model number and add "problems". The fault is that this mower scalps tall fescue lawns. There is no way to raise the deck through adjustments. Even on the highest deck position it is too low. I have had one for several years. It is lasted well enough and would be an OK mower except for that crippling design fault. Husqvarna customer service is non existent. Try calling them first if you are thinking of buying this mower. ... show more

  • Awful mower
This mower is garbage. Absolute garbage. Let’s start with the fact that the engine won’t start without starter fluid. Then the mower deck won’t cut level, and when you do level it’s way too low. Then let’s go to the belt that wants to slip off the pulley all the time so it won’t properly engage. And I can keep going - the mulching feature is worthless as it leaves clumps no matter what set of blades you put on. I will never buy another husqvarna product. If anyone is ever considering this machine, buy something else because this has to be the worst mower in history. Husqvarna should be ashamed to put something like this in the market with their name on it. ... show more

  • Grass looks nice after it's cut...and it's well built and reliable.
This mower has been an excetional performer. Purchased in 2014 from one of the big box stores and this is June of 2019. Lots of power...very smooth cut on my grass. Highly recommended. Remember...mowers like this one require maintenance. Grease for the front axle spindles, wheel bearings and steering wheel linkage/gears. Change the blades as required...same for the oil and filter and air filter and you'll get many years of use out of your mower. I'm going on 5 years. I don't use e-gas in mine...and have never used stabilizer over the winter...and it starts fine in the summer. It does take a little longer when you first start it after being stored for the winter...with last summer's gas, than when you're using it regularly during the mowing season. ... show more
