So in order to do a proper review you need to have all the components. As you can see in the picture the box contains a box with the blades, no Mulch Plate, no bag with hardware to mount the Plate. Box was manufacturers and sealed at both ends with copper plated staples, looks to me like that’s the way it came from the manufacturer. By the way the blades work great. I wanted to replace side dispense chute. It created way to much dust from the dry sand/soil mix here in FL. Easy to install and the mulching blades cut nice and evenly on my 42" mowing deck. The cover is lightweight bust really solid. The bungie bands ro keep it on tight do just that. Getting the 2nd one on was tough to stretch to its latching point so it's not going anywhere. Fairly easy. Only problem was the rear rubber bungee was too short. I had to add chain links to get a fit. Other than that all was great.

I have a bagger on my lawn mower and was in need of new blades. This kit was cheaper than just buying blades at the big box lawn and garden store. I've since stopped bagging and just mulch now. Works great.

I was surprised that you need to leave the discharge chute on. Guess they don't want you to deal with the spring on he chute.

    • Not Worth The Money
The blades are the biggest disappointment. They seem to be generic blades with about ~15% less thickness than the OEM blades. Compared to the OEM blades, they have a LOT of flex to them. I assume they are generic. My OEM blades lasted two years cutting 1 1/4 acres in South Florida 12 months a year. These blades are worn and nicked after six uses. The price went up $30 since I purchased three months ago, so that is something to consider as well. As far as the mulching function, if the grass is low, thin and dry it will mulch well. Anything other than that I take the guard off and mow like normal. I was impressed once. I ran over some old sea grape leaves and it ate them up as expected. ** My old Honda mower had mulching mastered. A 22" machine will dual blades and a tall deck would mulch thick wet grass like a champ. ... show more
