  • 5.0 out of 5 stars So good, it seems impossible
Size: 251 MPH
I don't even know where to start. Incredible? Stupendous? Amazing? A gift from God? This blower, well, blows! And let me tell you, it blows very well. I had a hand held unit for 13 years. I think it blew around 130 Mph. By the time I was done using it, even on a small yard, my arm and back ached. It took forever to move a pile of any size more than a foot. But this blower....this absolutely beautiful, powerful, quiet, debri moving machine does it all. If you aren't careful, it will blow the decorative rocks from the shrub beds across the walkway and into the grass. I found just letting it idle was best for leaf removal in the rock beds. We also have a gravel driveway. DO NOT open this bad boy up to full throttle while blowing the leaves off a gravel driveway if your cars are in it. My truck now needs a new windshield, and my wife's car looks like a hail storm hit it from the side. I'm sure it will buff right out though. ;-). We have just over two acres, and are surrounded by trees. There is an area out front by the road that has a couple of dozen trees in a small space. It is full of sticks, child's fist size rocks, and lots of leaves. In the past, I would have to go out and pick up all of the sticks first. Then I would blow, which took at least an hour, then pick up all the rocks that had worked their way up thru the dirt. Today I went out there with my new Orange Beast. I did NOT pick up sticks first, I just let the big dog run and started blowing. In 20 minutes, the area was completely clear of rocks, sticks, acorns and leaves. I didn't have to pick up a single thing. I've had 3 spinal fusions, and in the past, blowing leaves killed my back. Holding it in one hand with the wind pushing your arm back, which put force on my shoulder which in turn "twisted" my trunk/core. I was worried that this monster would hurt even more because of it's weight and the awesome force with which it blows. WRONG! The force is transferred to the backpack, not my arm. With the shoulder and chest strap, the force is applied pretty evenly, and I DO NOT HURT! I can't say enough about how great this blower is. I have a Husqvarna 26 Hp, 48" cut that I have now abused, I mean used, for 3 seasons. I have had zero issues with the mower. This blower seems to have the same high quality as my rider does. It starts on the first pull, every time. Even on days like today where the temperature was only 38 F when I started it. If you want a great blower, look no further! I just got done doing what I hope is my last leaf cleanup of the year. This is just a small section of our front yard. Looks good, doesn't it! ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Affordable Upgrade from a Handheld Leaf Blower
Size: 251 MPH
I have a 1/4 acre lot with lots of trees, shrubs, and hilly terrain. It was taking a long time to take care of the leaves with a hand held blower. I did lots of research and read/watched a lot of reviews. Side by side tests are subjective but everybody that reviewed this product gave it positive reviews. It's considered a mid-level pro product and a high level homeowner product. Compared to other blowers I thought the price was very good. The owners manual needs improvement but the product itself starts right up and does a really good job. Based on my situation I felt that higher mph was more important than higher cfm. The weight is listed as 22 1/2 pounds. It is comfortable to wear and not too loud with ear protection. The question always is how much tool do I need and at what price? No regrets buying this product. One more thing, I tried calling Husqvarna with some general questions but nobody ever answered the phone. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Amazon customer service was exceedingly awesome at fixing the problem though
Size: 251 MPH
Received a unit that had a defect. The cruise control throttle doesn't work at all. Took it apart and fixed it (cable was out of place), but after a few minutes of use stopped working again. No time to keep messing around with it and for a unit in this price range I expect it to work out of the box. Amazon customer service was exceedingly awesome at fixing the problem though. +5 to them. After a few practice uses and a real yard cleaning i can say this blower really delivers in performance. It blows hard and is very quiet. It's even quieter than my old 4-stroke that was half the displacement. Only complaint is the instruction manual, which is trash. I'm an engineer and I was having a hard time following it. They need to contract IKEA to make assembly directions. Some tips I can give for others though: 1. Have some sort of lucubration ready to install the plastic pipes, especially bellows pipe. A few drops of veg oil on a paper towel will go a long way. They fit really tight and need some help to get to final position. I'd say this is a good thigh though. 2. Make sure to have the stop switch in the ON position. It's pretty easy to forget it's off. My last blower used a momentary kill switch instead of a maintain switch. Wish this was the same, but it's just a matter of getting used to it. 3. Wish the choke was labeled differently. It is OPEN or CLOSE. START or RUN would be better, but there is a sticker on the side explaining it. 4. The pull chain takes a lot of force. You have to pull it very slowly first for a few inches until it catches, then let her rip. If you have shoulder issues this could be challenging. Fortunately i'm still young-ish. Hopefully it works well when it's cold so i can use it for blowing snow. ... show more
