Should I Buy It?

If you're in need of a reliable, lightweight chainsaw for both heavy-duty and everyday yard tasks, this product comes highly recommended by most users. Its ease of use, combined with the adequate power for its size, make it a valuable tool for a wide range of outdoor projects. • Husqvarna 16" Chain Saw
Style: Chainsaw
I bought this saw to compliment the larger 460 Husqvarn Rancher that I purchased several years ago. The Rancher has proven itself to be reliable and useful helping me with 7 heavily wooded achers. I needed a smaller (lighter) saw for regular upkeep on the property. I selected this saw because of my past experiences with Husqvarna products and the saws lightweight. Having already owned Husqvarna saws, I knew the startup proceedure. I unboxed the saw, added the 2.6 ox of 2-cycle oil (provided with the saw) to 1gallon of gasoline, and filled the tank on the saw. I also filled the bar lube resevoir (not provided so you'll need to purcahse some). Follow the startup proceedure and the saw starts EVERY time -no issues. For those who have not had a Husqvarna, the startup is to push the chain brake forward, Pull the chock out and push it up to the highest position, pump the primer ball 6 times, place the saw on the ground, slip your right foot through the handle (to hold the saw firmly to the ground), place your left hand on the top of the handle (to steady the saw when you pull the start cord), pull the rope-start with your right hand until the saw "burbs" or acts like it wants to start (about 2 or 3 pulls), push the chock down to the next "notch", and give the start cord a pull. The saw will start every time. Pull the chain brake to the rear and Let the saw idle for about 15 seconds, then give the thottle a good "blip", run it up to speed for about 30 seconds to warm the saw up, and you are ready to cut. The brand new saw - out of the box - started on the first pull after following the above proceedure. I really like the light weight and very sharp 16" blade. I also like that the air filter element is easy to access and clean. I'd also recommend investing in a Husqvarna carry case with integral chain bar cover. ... show more

  • Started Right UP
Style: Chainsaw
Just needed gas everything else came with it. It started right up but I only use it on tree branches, nothing to big. I don't think it would have a problem with a tree.

  • Best saw for the money.
Style: Chainsaw
I'm confused by all the people who state the saw won't start. If you follow the procedure for priming and choking it, it starts with very little effort and runs remarkably well for its weight and size. Could not be happier with it. I purchased it for lot clearing on a heavily brushed and treed lot, and it has been handling the job with power to spare. ... show more

  • Buy one!
Style: Chainsaw
Came with 2-stroke oil for mixing in your gas and a multi-tool for use on chainsaw. It's ready to go bout of the box, just add fuel/oil and chain oil amd let her rip. The other reviews seem outlandish to me but I'm handy. Follow startup instructions to become familiar and you won't have an issue!

  • Great Saw
Style: Chainsaw
I bought this saw to go with my big saw. I love how light it is. Easy to cut small stuff without wearing you out. I cleaned up a big hickory tree that fell on my farm with it. The big saws chain was done, so I used this little saw to cut up the 18" Hickory tree without a hick up. Very impressed with how well it cut. Just have to make sure when you first start the saw, after you prime it with the ball, you only pull it one time with the choke on, then push the choke down and pull, mine starts every time. If you pull it to many times with the choke on, it will flood it and make it difficult to start. ... show more

  • Defective Saw
Style: Chainsaw
DO NOT BUY! Five minutes into using this saw, a metal ring/spring inside the chain shroud popped off and lodged itself into the chain sprocket. This ended up seasing the saw altogether and damaging the chain. The way this lodged itself into the the sprocket wouldn't allow for me to take the cover off to even maintain it. If this saw breaks on small 2 inch diameter branches, I would hate to see how it performs on larger diameter logs. ... show more

  • Couldn't be happier!
Style: Chainsaw
This is a great saw! I have previously owned a entry level, low priced saw from a different manufacturer which eventually died. I did some research with some things in mind: need to stay under $300 and need to be able to handle yard work plus some occasional firewood cutting. I have about 2 hours on this saw and so far it exceeds my expectations. The first thing I noticed is it seems like it is loosely assembled when you first pick it up but I soon realized it has springs built in. I'm here to say they do exactly what they are designed to do, there is very little vibration felt in hand considering this is a chain saw. It starts by the 3rd pull, has a flat side opposite the gas cap to prevent rolling when filling, cuts like a dream and the exhaust is minimal. One thing to add, a word to the wise- it really does make a difference to use non ethanol gasoline (marine grade) in small engines. This is key to healthy fuel systems in these engines. ... show more
