This scraper works well for smaller tanks. say under 125 gallon tanks. Scraps and brushes algae from the glass. I would recommend for smaller size tanks.

Hpumps Aquarium Magnetic Cleaner for Glass Fish Tank - Size 4M I used the cleaner to clean the inside of my 55 gallon tank. It worked great and scraped off the algae well, in sheets in fact The algae wasn't too bad yet but just made the glass look a bit cloudy yet still transparent and not green. Although the magnetic bond for the size I have (4M) was clearly too strong for a 55 gallon tank. The glass of the 55 gallon tank is not 1/2 inch thick which this size scraper recommends so there was quite a bit of pressure as the magnet is very strong. Before using, I made the mistake of letting the parts touch to see how strong the pull was and it was difficult to pull them apart. My concern would be that this much pressure could cause a leak pulling on the glass that strongly. So pay attention to sizing and buy the right size for your glass thickness as that determines how strong the magnetic bond will be. Don't expect to be able to use the stronger units on thinner glass. It does still work great by holding it in your hand in the water. The scraper comes with two blades. Upon arrival you simply clip the blade on and you're ready to go. As mentioned if purchasing, make sure to buy the size that matches your fishtank's glass thickness and don't expect to be able to safely use it on a tank whose glass is thinner than mentioned.

This is a great cleaning brush for the aquarium! The size actually works great for both of my 36 gallon bow fronts. It fits nicely in the palm and moves easily across the tank. It goes around the sides of the aquarium well too, and if it does happen to come apart it floats so it can easily be retrieved off of the top of the tank. It's handy for a quick swipe across the glass to remove algae and has a scraper at the top that works well too. The magnets are super strong on this brush! I had to twist to get them apart. The scraper was really easy to install on this too. It just slides in and clips down. This came packaged pretty well too, and comes with an extra blade for the scraper. Overall this is a very handy little cleaning brush for any aquarium! Highly recommend!

I wanted to try this, since my previous magnetic cleaner was tiny. This one is a bit oversized and probably a bit too strong for my small aquarium with rather thin glass. But it works better than my old one. These magnets are very strong, I think they would still hold on glass even twice as thick as my aquarium. For some reason the blade doesn’t make full contact with the glass, I’m still trying to adjust that to work correctly. But the main purpose was not the blade, only the magnetic scrubber and that works great!

My older set has weaker magnets and was annoying to fish out the half that fell to the bottom ot the tank. This set is far better with a very strong magnet and an option to install a blade to help scrape the worst of the buildup. And the ability to float is a very nice tough, but I doubt it'll be popping off. It's more likely a useful feature when I accidentally drop it. The size is large enough to comfortably hold and maneuver around the tank glass. It's a little more expensive than the ones in the brick and mortar stores, but it's so much better.

The strong magnets ensure it will work well with varying thicknesses of glass but just be careful if you try to test the strength of the magnets outside of the tank. Scared the life out of me when the 2 sides snapped together. Then separating them was a bit of a challenge too. Overall, I would recommend this product, but be careful if you have not used one before.

It's pretty huge! At least an inch longer than the standard size, and an inch wider, too. Not as tall off the glass as the standard ones, but it doesn't float. The magnets are VERY strong, though. Not that that's a bad thing. I do like the carbon fiber scraper attachment it comes with that I didn't expect! Overall, I really like this thing and intend to use it from now on! Highly recommended!
