  • Small, Capable Laptop with some downsides.
Coming from a 15.6 inch gaming laptop, this thing is tiny. Gaming laptop was too big and unwieldy for when I just wanted to go out and study or watch some videos. Decided I needed something more compact and versatile. Pros: -Great vibrant looking screen with plenty of brightness. 4K videos are pretty. -Compact. -Battery life is pretty good for the size. A few hours streaming videos no problem. -Foldable. Can get a lot of different angles. -Lightweight -Has a 3.5mm headphone jack. I'm not using it, but it's a nice to have. -Uses USB-C for charging and docking. Doesn't use a proprietary plug for charging which is nice. USB-C port works with docks. -Good responsive touchscreen with pen support (pen included for my purchase). Cons: -It gets hot. If under load the laptop does get hot and would not be comfortable if resting on your lap. Despite the size, I suggest you get a laptop mat with fans, since it does get pretty hot. -Fans can get pretty loud and whiny when under load. -The Camera is garbage. Terrible quality. It is only 720P. Kind of to be expected for such a small laptop. It will work alright for calls, but by far the worst Laptop Camera I've ever used. Definitely a downgrade from my 1080p camera on my gaming laptop. -Sound volume can be a little low. Although they are side firing, they are facing down at an angle. This muffles the sound a little bit. -Only has 1 USB-A port. There are 2 USB-C ports, but I'm still someone that has a lot of USB-A type dongles and connectors. I suggest getting a USB-C docking station or hub, so you can connect more peripherals, if you need them. Otherwise, get some Bluetooth stuff and connect wireless. Who should buy this? Someone that only plans to do some casual gaming, browsing and watching videos. The screen is extremely small, so I suggest bumping up if you are looking to do some productivity. Despite being a touchscreen the screen is very bright. It might be a good fit for someone that has plans to use the pen for drawing etc. ... show more

  • Shuts down out of the box.
As the title says, it out of the box randomly shuts down. It's not over-heating, ran daigs and nothing appears to be wrong, but it still shuts down. I updated it, even installed windows 11, and it still shuts down. It seems to stay on if it's on the charger which leads me to believe its either a power supply or a battery issue. Other than that, the features are great, touch-screen is responsive. it gets a little hot, but nothing unbearable. Its sleek, the pen is nice. ... show more

  • Great seller, great product, bad warranty policy
Bought this for my wife who uses it for virtual conferencing, light MS Office work, internet surfing. For that level, this product is perfect and she is delighted. When it was first powered up, the microphone didn't work -- there was a driver issue that took me an hour or so to resolve. All is good now. Seller delivered the laptop amazingly fast, about two days. It arrived in October, 2021, and when I checked the warranty status, HP said that it had expired in July, 2021. Same issue as experienced by others here. HP has a site where you can dispute that warranty. According to them, you upload your Amazon receipt and they'll reset your warranty to your purchase date. Well, I did that two weeks ago and, so far, no progress. The unit is working fine so I don't need warranty service but, still, not too happy with HP's warranty policy. Seller is great (and responsive -- recommended), laptop is great Just assume that, if you buy any HP product from anybody, it will be out of warranty and you'll have to go through a multi-week process to actually get a warranty from HP. ... show more

  • Expired warranty and speakers came broken out of the box Expired warranty and speakers came broken out of the box
Lovely computer that came in a sealed new box, but speakers are broken, producing annoying background noise every time sound is played. This is after spending whole afternoon applying one full year of Microsoft updates. I called HP one day one to see if they can help, they checked the serial number and said warranty was expired. At the same time an HP tool popped up the warning on photo saying warranty was expired almost a month before unit was first shipped to me in sealed box. So lesson learned: HP warranty starts to run when this unit was bought from HP, different from Apple products, which warranty start to run when you first turn on the device, regardless when it was taken out of the store. Returning it. ... show more

  • Consistently Crashes Consistently Crashes
As a laptop, it's great. Northing to complain about. However, it is just terribly unreliable. I have owned mine for only about 7 months, It's never had any problems, the computer has never been hit or dropped or experienced any physical damage, yet it crashes on me quite frequently. I have only captured 6 of the crashes, but rest assured, those aren't the only ones. What seems to make it crash is plugging in the charger, plugging in your phone, and really just doing nothing, because right before I wrote this review, it crashed while I was taking a quiz while I was doing some calculations. So, if you can tolerate random crashes in your week-to-week life, this is truly a must buy. ... show more

  • Died After a Year and a Half, Many issues throughout
It is a good device, but my battery died after a year and a half. Not to be expected from a $1300 machine. Also, mine's audio jack never worked. Minimal in comparison to the machine but still worth mentioning.
