  • Get this i7!!! Great computer, and not just for the price!
Style: i7
I’ll keep this review short, so I’ve been out of the computer game for quite some time at least 10 years and needed a PC to run some programs and my 3-D printer that I picked up on Amazon. I sent a few computers that I found on Amazon to friends who know more about computers than me and needless to say they are a bunch of computer snobs lol if you’re like me and people are telling you that you need to spend more money and get the latest and greatest, don’t. Unless you’re a hard-core gamer or something like that, his computer will work for 90% of most people. I’ve only had the computer for a few days now, but it works. Flawlessly set up, was extremely easy, and it runs all my programs without hesitation. Very fast and very clean with pretty much zero bloatware loaded on it. The graphics card is integrated into the hard drive so you can’t upgrade it unfortunately but I played a few games on it and a real flight simulator and it works just fine not the greatest but pretty good. I did upgrade the USB Wi-Fi. The one that comes with it is pretty cheesy and I was only getting 24 MB per second download. I bought one on Amazon for like 20 bucks and it’s much better. The mouse that it comes with is pretty much disposable so plan on spending another $15 on a better wireless mouse. Other than that it’s an amazing computer and not just for the price. I will update if I have issues with it for longevity, but so far definitely five stars! ... show more

  • Nice machine
Style: RGB Gaming
We got the RGB gaming model with the graphics card, and so far so good. My son saved up for a few months and bought this to play games on steam, specifically Halo but it’ll run other games just fine as well. Overall, it seems like a well put together machine and good for kids who are just getting into PC gaming. The only bummer is that the Wi-Fi adapter is grossly inadequate. We were only able to get about 2-5 mbps, and we’re on high speed fiber. I ended up picking up a netgear wifi card for about $30 that got the job done, and now we’re up to an average of 200mbps. Much better. I’d recommend the seller upgrade the Wi-Fi adapter so people can actually download games in a timely manner. ... show more

  • Excellent Home Office PC
Style: i5
I ordered this PC to replace my grandparents 20 year old tower. The old machine would take 20 minutes to open a web browser. Although they only use the computer to pay online bills and check emails, the old machine was unbearable to use and/or repair. This machine comes with 16GB of RAM, the OS is on a SSD so it boots lightning fast, and has a 1TB HDD which is ample storage for all their photos and word documents. The price point for these specs is great, and they are extremely happy with the upgrade. I no longer dread going to their house to help install things or fix software issues. The only downside, is that it does not support a wired ethernet connection, and had to be connected to Wi-Fi instead. Although, they included a 5G Wi-Fi adapter and it is simply plug and play. This PC is not meant for gaming, but if you just need it for simple things like watching videos online, paying bills, home office work, etc, it will be great for those tasks. ... show more

  • Good for a refurb at this price point.
Style: i5
I got a little out of two years of life out of this computer. It could run games like skyrim on high settings though not with a lot of mods. And it could run minecraft on lower settings with mods etc. though minecraft is iffy to begin with so having it run at all is pretty good. Overall defenitely worth the money if you are in desperate need of a super cheap desktop and are broke like me :P ... show more

  • Elite Desk is great for my personal business
Style: i5
In the world of which we live today, you could spend hundreds or thousands on a great computer, all depending on your personal needs. But if you have a little knowledge of computers and their internal workings, this one is nice for the price, and it gets the job done. It's basically a revamped business office computer. Comes standard with windows 10 which is all I need to get my job done. I added microsoft office and a printer, which works smoothly with the system. I've had it for nine months, and have found no flaws with it. ... show more

  • The BIOS is locked with a non-removable unknown password
Style: i5
I bought an HP EliteDesk 800 G1 SFF to use as a virtualization server and router. First I would like to say that if you just want to run Windows, this is a lot of solid hardware for a very reasonable price, jump on it. The one I got has a problem that you should know about. This is enterprise desktop hardware intended for large corporations that want to control their systems and not let the employees monkey with them. And mine came with what HP calls a "stringent" BIOS password. So I was unable to make any changes in the BIOS, including changing the boot order. There are BIOS password reset procedures for this machine online, but they don't work if the password is set to "stringent" mode. HP support site says if you don't have the password, the only thing that can be done is replacing the motherboard. I wanted to install ProxMox on it for virtualization instead of Windows. In order to do this, you have to boot from a cdrom or a USB thumb drive to install it. It insisted on booting the Windows disk, period. I'm an engineer and all, I worked around it by opening up the case and moving the SATA cables around. It turns out that it will boot from the cdrom if and only if there is no bootable hard disk. I replaced the drives and saved the SSD in case I ever wanted to run Windows again. This allowed me to install ProxMox, which is now running just fine. I would still like to get into the BIOS, first because the machine belongs to me and not the megacorp that originally purchased it. Also, I would like to change the CPU fan behavior so it doesn't make any noise until it actually needs to. HP did not make the fan controls and sensors available to the OS so I was not able to control it that way. ... show more
