  • Great Performance for the Price
Like: Cost. I paid $800 on Black Friday for a computer with decent mid-grade gaming power. I'm very happy with it. Performance. This isn't a top tier PC gaming system, but it is pretty decent. I can play all my usual games on High or Ultra High levels of detail. I've used it to run VR on my son's Quest 2 and that is also good. Meh: At 500 GB, the single SSD is not very big by modern standards. It is fine for the price. Thankfully I had a 1 TB SATA hard drive in the computer this replaced and it mounted into this unit with no problems. I used the hard drive for data (pictures, videos, and MP3s) and the SSD for executables and games. The included 16 GB of memory is decent, but I plan to upgrade at some point in the computers service life. You're stuck with Windows 11. I don't hate it, but I don't love it. I saw no reason to upgrade from Windows 10. When I bought it, I got some free games from AMD as a promotion from Amazon. But I couldn't pick either game, likely won't play either, and one is still in preorder anyway. If they're still running this promotion, keep in mind that it is pretty meh. I had trouble getting my son's Quest 2 to interface with the PC using a USB-c to USB-c cable that I had. The jack on the front of the computer wouldn't seat properly because of the towers angled front. When I switch to USB-3 to USB-C, it worked fine. It might have just been the cheap USB-C to USB-C cable that I used. Dislike: The included AMD gaming graphics card is great, but definitely has less support than an equivalent unit from Invidia. One of my games had a documented bug with the Ryzen cards. I was able fix this by manually updating to the newest drivers on AMDs website. Windows Update and the included AMD software did not address it. This is why I dinged Tech Support a little. This is chock full of software that annoys the hell out of you until you uninstall it. When I uninstalled McAfee, it literally asks you why you are doing it and one of the choices (which I checked) was you are sick of all of McAfee's notifications. ... show more

  • No upgrades
If you're buying this PC and planning on upgrading it later, it's nearly impossible. The most ridiculous thing I've found is that even upgrading RAM is a pain. Only certain brands work with it even if all the specs are identical to the RAM that's already installed. That's pretty much the bad. The PC for what it is runs great. It plays all the modern games. The most graphically intense game I've played is Cyberpunk. I can get it to look great with consistent 60fps with high settings and using vsync. The PC boots almost instantly, it runs fast, and the wifi works good. If you're looking to just buy something to game, the computer is great. But I would not buy it if I'm planning to upgrade it later on. ... show more

  • Perfect for me so far...
I've had this computer for just over a month. I gave it some time before I wrote a review. One thing before I get into it, I DID add an additional 16gb of memory, kicking it up to 32 gb. First it was easy to set up and add the extra memory. Forget the mouse and keyboard that come with it. I'm not sure why they were even included unless for a first time buyer who needed them. Really a waste. That's about it for the bad news, though. This machine has run really fast and quiet. I use this exclusively for graphics, video and occasional gaming. I know it's not the fastest machine in the world, but for the price, it does everything I need. No problems running my Adobe products, even concurrently with another program. I also use Cyberlink for video and the difference between this and my old comp is amazing. Same with GameGuru Max. Any games I have played so far have also performed really well. I haven't played any really intensive resource eaters yet, but games like Rocket League perform flawlessly at the highest settings for me. Overall, I am really pleased with this purchase. I was looking to spend under $1,500 and between this and the additional memory, came in right around that with tax, etc. ... show more

  • excellent value
The system was extremely effective for the task I needed it for. As an entertainment center, it works perfectly. A pretty good gaming machine with 1080P. I'm very happy with my purchase.

  • Motherboard failed after 6 days; HP warranty expired before I bought it new!
This review is for the HP Pavilion I bought in October 2023. It worked for 5 days before it stopped connecting to the monitor--swapping monitors and cables made no difference. HP tech support confirmed it needed repair, but said the HP warranty had expired 5 months before I ever bought it (brand new from Amazon) since HP starts the warranty clock when the product is manufactured, not when it's sold to a customer. So, since HP effectively provided no warranty at all for this brand-new PC, I returned it to Amazon and am done ever buying an HP product again. ... show more

  • Bad value even on black friday
Pre-mades are usually bad but this one also has proprietary parts. It won't be easily upgradeable in the future. It uses a 400w power supply unit so getting a better graphics card might overwhelm the psu. Hp's psus are overpriced. It might require some expertise to use a psu that isn't from Hp. Even then the case doesn't have good air flow so more energy intensive upgrades might overheat. The case can't be changed because the motherboard wouldn't fix with ATX standards. The motherboard doesn't allow for smart memory access so AMD's 6000s series graphics card cant be used to its full potential. There are many guides on youtube on how to build a pc and which parts provides good value. I encourage anyone who read this to do a bit of research because you can actually build a better system for less. And if you still want to buy a pre-built check if the build is easily upgradeable. ... show more

  • Solid Computer
Was looking for a computer for college classes, Stock Trading, and a little gaming and so far this PC is everything I expected. If you need a solid PC for avid use this is a good value. If you are getting this PC just for gaming, it will work but you will most likely need to upgrade the Ram and definitely get a Hard Drive add on for more storage. Other than that, if you are just looking for a good PC for business work or any other basic computer software's this PC has made me more than happy. (Will Update as Needed) ... show more
