The media could not be loaded. This is a great magnetic stirrer. It stirs well and is very quiet. I love that it comes with a magnet retriever. I added a video so that you can see how quietly it runs. I am very please with this purchase.

Worked as expected out of the box. After some time in storage with the stirring bar held to the plate by its magnetic force, the device then ran with lowered performance and a scraping noise. Opening it, I found that the glue used to hold the internal magnets to their rotating platform had failed on one side and the stirring bar's attraction pulled one internal magnet up from its socket and it was then scraping the bottom of the plate from within. After removing the magnet, I found that the glue was still wet but soon hardened. I presume that the glue used during assembly needs oxygen to cure and was applied and sealed by the placement of the magnet so quickly that it could not dry since leaving the factory till I removed the loose magnet and exposed it to air again. I cleaned up the magnet and socket, applied my own glue, and the device works appropriately again. Mine may be a unique case, but if yours slows down and makes a scraping noise, it may be easily fixed with a Phillips screwdriver and some glue of your own. (Mind the polarity of any magnet removed. Reversing that would make the device useless.)

I use this stirrer mainly in the kitchen, to mix liquid ingredients and some powdered things together. I've been using it for several months now and have had no problems with it & it has worked great. I ordered some extra magnetic stirring rods for it, and they do give it more versatility. It's also great to mix a single glass of chocolate milk or instant tea, lol.

I was a little concerned buying such a cheap stirrer, but it is not something I plan on using daily so I figured I would take the chance. I am honestly pleasantly surprised with how well it works. I was using it to stir a relatively tall quart container and I had to keep it turned down low so that I didn’t form a vortex and suck air into the liquid. If you need a stirrer don’t hesitate to get one of these.
