  • No worries and a great deal!
Style: RTX 3080
I was concerned about the fans and cooling as some of the reviews said that it was an issue. After two weeks of use, I can tell you the fans and liquid cooling work great, no issues. I mostly play Call of Duty, and this Alienware R14 performs beautifully. This is my first AMD and I noticed that it does run slightly warmer than Intel. No big deal really, liquid cooling works great and this thing is super-fast. The 3080 RTX is an awesome graphics card and a HUGE upgrade from the latest card installed in my old computer, the 2080 RTX. The Alienware software for fan control and overclocking is easy to figure out. The fans are fine, no need to replace them. Liquid cooling works well cooling the CPU. Just use it for gaming, editing, and streaming. No worries It comes in a box with heavy duty foam and the case is covered in a plastic protective film. Arrived on time in perfect condition. I would recommend this computer. It's clean and built well. The $1845.14 price is decent. Excellent value. ... show more

  • 3years, No issues
Style: RTX 3080
Bought this in July of 2022, Other than a loose memory card after a trip across country this PC has been perfect. Alienware gets a bad rap a lot but this system has been good to me.

  • Amazing PC for the value
Style: RTX 3080
The media could not be loaded. In 2017 I bought an Alienware Aurora R7 and that PC was freaking amazing. Ran every game I tried to play perfectly up until recently as graphics are just getting better and better. I figured it was time for an upgrade saw this R14 for $2799 on Amazon and couldn’t beat that with the 3080. This PC is $3500 on dells website. It does not function right with Windows 10 (won’t allow you to access Microsoft store) but once I put it back to windows 11 it’s perfect again. Windows 11 is easy to get used to and might be faster than 10. Hard to say. Overall this PC is great getting a constant 120-150 FPS 240hz 1080P monitor on ultra/extreme graphics on Forza 5. So far I’ve only seen it hit about 72° max and when you quit a game it’s down to 35-40° within 30 seconds. It’s also not loud at all compared to my R7. Every other game I’ve played on here 20+ different games now (Elden Ring, WOW, FH5, Sea of Thieves, cyberpunk(got louder for that one), ESO Online, No Mans Sky.. the list could go on) in a month and have really yet to see the frames drop below 70-80fps on any game maxed out minus in the loading screens. Coming from a GTX 1080 to a RTX 3080 is a game changer and super glad I did it wish I did sooner. ... show more

  • Seemingly great build full of stereotypical Dell disappointment
Style: RTX 3080
The media could not be loaded. System held up well during its first year. A few minor hardware bugs and some HDR software issues that were eventually resolved with software and firmware updates. While it does come with its fair share of Dell bloatware, the Alienware Command Center and support assist are decent, user-friendly options to keep your drivers and software up to date which is particularly helpful for the less tech-savvy. I was having BSOD issues and worked through troubleshooting with tech support and right up until I was about to ship it back for repair, updates came through and I haven't had those issues since. However, merely days after my warranty expired, my GPU started behaving poorly. Under normal load, the PC is acceptable in terms of noise, but after any sort of load that causes the GPU fans to spin up (such as gaming) the 2nd of the two GPU fans begin a pattern of going from 0 RPM to 1500-2000+ before settling back down to 0. The other GPU fan stays operating at a few hundred RPM but the 2nd fan throttles up and down every few seconds. The volume of this intolerable and can be heard very clearly from other rooms and as white noise in calls. With the warranty now expired and the history of difficult Dell support historically, I think I just got suckered for a build that in the end was too good to be reliable and can't recommend Dell or Alienware products to anyone looking for longevity in their products or ease of service. ... show more

  • The beast is great but...
Style: RTX 3080
If this has a monthly plan for you I say go for it. If it's on a partial sale go for it. If you can spare the money go for it. I say this because I stream with this beast and play on it as well. Never had an issue not even when I got it. Runs great however. I will say this now. The fans suck. They're cheap and my tower gets really hot. I've had to replace them with stronger fans to avoid overheating. But other then that I've fallen in love with this pre-built. Genuine review. No paid actor. I use this thing alot. Sometimes for hours in a day and runs perfectly fine. Would of put a 5 star but those fans for this expensive of hardware is a tad slacking for my liking but other then that worth the money. ... show more

  • Gorgeous powerful gaming PC
Style: RTX 3080
2 months of ownership at this point (3080 version). Overall, this is a beautiful and powerful gaming PC, truly looking like a piece of alien technology on my desk. I bought it "used" via Amazon Warehouse for a big discount: aside from not arriving in the original box, no signs of wear. The warranty had 7 months left. Just finished a playthrough of Baldur's Gate 3 on max settings at 4k resolution (FPS capped at 60 due to monitor restrictions). Zero problems, and the GPU temperature rarely rose above 65 C. The highest temperature I've seen is 75 C, and that was with GPU utilization near 100%. I've tried a bit of VR via a wired connection to a Meta Quest 2 with decent results. Google Earth is stunning. No Man's Sky has to be played at minimum settings due to severe stuttering, thought NMS VR is a notorious system hog. Performance was improved when I minimized the Steam VR's screen mirror displayed on the monitor. There is a known problem with sleep mode with Alienware on Windows 11. While sleeping the fans frequently cycle on/off, and this lead to an occasional blue screen ("Windows failed to load"), requiring a restart. Turning off sleep mode and using Hibernate instead eliminated this problem 95%. Startup following hibernate requires just a few seconds to load. Overall, thumbs up. Will update review if new problems emerge. ... show more
