  • Solid Unit and Quality
Style: New Version
Using the wireless connection and connected to home network with no issues. Setting up the printer was simple. The only concern or slight issue is printing using the private function. Been trying to turn off the private print function as you need to go to the printer and hit print. Other than that no issues or printing errors. Great quality thus far when printing. Have tried a few photos as well and quality was great. Use proper print paper thou. ... show more

  • It just works flawlessly and free year of ink is perfect
Style: New Version
It connected easily with WiFi. I bought it for the fax option which worked easier that setting it to my network. Printes easily kids love printing all types of things. Value is great with using the free year’s worth of ink. The ink capacity is decent for a standard home. The features were the selling point for us and it didn’t disappoint. ... show more

  • Worst Printer I Have Ever Owned!
Style: New Version
This is the worst printer I have ever owned. It is very disappointing because the one previous to this I had for about 14 years and it was HP. It worked like a charm until I think the Wi-Fi got too advanced for it and it just didn’t always air print. So I searched through the reviews and did a bunch of research to buy this one. I’m so disappointed because when I got it, I almost returned it that day because it wouldn’t set up. You set this up on an app and it does it wirelessly versus pressing any buttons on the actual printer. I tried for about two hours and it just wasn’t working well Then all of a sudden I finally had a breakthrough and got it to set up. However, from that point on it was touch and go on whether it was going to actually print from my iPhone or my iPad. I had a good run where I didn’t have many problems at one point. I would occasionally have to unplug it, power it off and reset the Wi-Fi, but that generally would make it print again. However, over the last couple months, it just stopped working and then I spent four hours on the phone with product support. This printer only has like a one year warranty and so I knew that in a couple months I wouldn’t be able to call to get support on it not printing. I just don’t have the time to sit there and try to make this printer work. The second guy I got on the phone said that it was my Wi-Fi service and I needed to contact my Internet provider to get help. However, I’ve never heard of such a thing because everything else that I have that is Wi-Fi works completely fine. I basically have a smart home with over 80 devices attached to the Internet. This is the only one that doesn’t function properly. So… The only thing that doesn’t work consistently is this printer. I got so frustrated that I boxed this thing up, and I put it in the donation pile to send to paralyzed veterans. I then bought a competing brand which oh by the way is working perfectly and printed right off the bat. It also set up like a charm. I read some other reviews to see if other people had problems with printing from my iPhone and iPad. It looks like over the reviews online that this problem I was experiencing is not just one that I had. It may be the Internet provider or it could be the actual compatibility with iPhone and iPad products. I am not sure exactly because you don’t get all that information in the reviews of others to be able to distinguish if it’s just one factor. I have AT&T as an Internet provider and I can tell you that I had real troubles with this particular model. I know that I set up the Wi-Fi 1 million times. I also defaulted it back to the original settings. I deleted the app. I reinstalled the app. I let it be unplugged. I did everything trying to make this work. I spent probably 40 hours or more trying to get this printer to work so take this information as you would like to make an informed decision for yourself. I’m trying to save others from wasting their money on this printer. ... show more

  • Solid Printer for the Price
Style: New Version
I have had this printer a couple of months, but I am a heavy user so I have put it through its paces. I see people complaining about connectivity issues when trying to print. Here is my tip: Do NOT use the HP Smart Print option. Use the printer dropdown menu and just choose the printer. This solves the issue. We have 4 different printers in this office and they ALL have issues printing and scanning using the HP Smart option. This printer does fine on scanning with the HP Smart option, but cannot keep the connection reliably to print. It does have an automatic drive feed for scanning several pages, but doesn't do well with more than maybe 10 sheets. Also, BE WARNED, this printer constantly defaults to two sided printing so you need to uncheck that box in the print menu. It is annoying because I NEVER want two sided printing. Despite these minor inconveniences, it is a very good printer. It was easy to set up, it is not too loud and provides quality printing. ... show more

  • CAN SCAN TO USB.
Style: New Version
I needed to replace my printer and this one fit the bill. It is small enough to fit where my previous printer was. The one thing I was looking for is a printer with a usb slot as I am always scanning things on to my usb, and then plugging it into my computer to save. As I look on Amazon this was the only one that I saw with that feature. It was very easy to set up and I beleive the ink will last a long time which makes this a good value. ... show more

  • Impossible to set up ink hog
Style: New Version
This was one of the most disappointing purchases I have ever made. I received my new 8139e printer after having many years of successful experience with my previous Officejet. The first hassel was trying to get it to print wirelessly. After spending 3 weeks with my company IT and HP Help Desk we finally decided to only print using the cable. I didn't try to register it until this 3 week nightmare was over. When I did register, HP said was eligible for 2 months of free ink even though the printer had a sticker saying one year of free ink. HP said I had to complete the registration within 7 day of connecting to the HP Smart Hub. I maybe printed 50 pages and it ran out of ink. This was just printing documents no photos! This printer is a major ink hog! I went online to order ink and it was $110 for the ink. That is over $2 per page that this worthless printer kicked out!!! I will never purchase another HP printer again. ... show more
