    • Great Computer, Terrible Wifi Dongle
The computer is fantastic, especially for the price. It was a serious upgrade for me, and I half expected that I was being lied to owing to the price. Everything functions great with one exception. The included wifi dongle is trash. It's a Realtek RTL8818FTV, and it hates Windows 10 with a fiery passion. After several times reinstalling the drivers, playing with settings, and generally fighting with it I'm able to keep it connected for the most part. If you don't have any technical skills, however, you're going to be in for a rough time. I'll be replacing it as soon as possible. It's also fairly slow, topping out at 54Mbps, and generally running closer to 25-30Mbps Everything else is fine, but I'm going to chuck the dongle into Mt. Doom as soon as I have a new one in hand. ... show more

Pc is great it runs all the games i play very well including Overwatch, valorant, fortnite, apex. the power supply is the only draw back i noticed so i would upgrade to a 500w OEM. the CPU (i7 6700) and GPU (1660S 6Gb) work well together and allow me to record and stream using OBS. this is definitely a wonderful price and i don’t believe you can go wrong here ... show more

    • Best gaming PC for the price when it is working
I’m changing my rating from a 5 star to a 1 star. This computer stopped working after 5 months. The unit will no longer starts up. I reach out to SJ Computers and they said it is past the 90 day warranty period and there is nothing they can do. My guess is the original computer parts cannot handle the extras they added onto the computer and it is just a matter of time before it fails. Previous review: This is the best gaming PC for the price on Amazon or any other online retailer. The CPU and GPU easily handles the games my son plays. For example, this PC runs Fortnite at 100+ FPS in Performance and DX12 mode at ~50% CPU and GPU usage. It does not have the cool fan lights like many of the other gaming PCs but it performs much better than its price point. So far we have not had any issues with the 250W PSU. I would have preferred a 1TB SSD drive instead of a 128G SSD with a 3TB HDD. Mine actually came with a 4TB HDD. I agree with the other reviews on the USB Wifi adapter. I replaced the provided adapter with another USB adapter and increased my download speed from 30MB/s to 150MB/s. Lastly, the PC I received had a different case. The picture is of a HP EliteDesk Tower but the one I received was a HP ProDesk Microtower. It is pretty compact so the components are tightly packed in. ... show more

    • Upgradeable up to a point...
First the bad news. The Intel Quad I7-6700 only supports 64GB DDR4-2400 RAM, so they lied about the 128GB max. Maybe that's why most refurb PC descriptions are so vague. It came with a pair of 16GB memory sticks in two of the four DDR4 slots. I tried to upgrade it with four Crucial RAM 32GB DDR4 3200MHz sticks, but Windows reported the Installed RAM as 128GB (63.9GB usable) at only 2400MHz. It took me a few tries to upgrade the boot disk to a 2TB SSD. (Note: A larger SSD is not supported as the MBR Windows boot drive.) It supports only one other SATA drive with the supplied connectors. The trick is to clone the 100MB unmapped boot partition and the 500MB unmapped restore partition to new partitions on the the secondary drive with no drive letters, do a full system backup on the remaining NTFS formatted E: drive, and "Create a recovery drive" to allow system restore from a USB key drive. Then shut down and disconnect the original C: drive, replace it with your new drive, and restart the PC with your USB recovery drive in place to force a system restore to the only available new drive from the only available backup on your E: drive. Don't waste your time with MiniTool Partition Wizard until the last step. When your system is restored, it will still have a128TB C: drive and a giant empty partition on the tail end. That's where you can use Partition Wizard to reclaim the rest of the 2TB SSD space. I also added a multi-port PCIe SATA Expansion Card to add more drives, and that part worked really well once I abandoned Partition Wizard and used the Windows MMC Disk Management (Local) snap-in to partition and format more drives. The HP driver updates don't seem to do much, but the tool integrates with the web nicely. This box is now as big and fast as it's going to get, and a bargain despite the extra $250+ I put into it. User Benchmark rated it Gaming 58% Gunboat Desktop 84% Aircraft carrier Workstation 50% Yacht With a brilliant single core score, this CPU is the business: It demolishes everyday tasks such as web browsing, office apps and audio/video playback. Additionally this processor can handle light workstation, and even some light server workloads. Finally, with a gaming score of 77.5%, this CPU's suitability for 3D gaming is good. 68.7% is a good 3D score. This GPU can handle the majority of recent games at high resolutions and ultra detail levels. 113% is an exceptional SSD score. This drive is suitable for heavy workstation use, it will facilitate fast boots, responsive applications and allow for fast transfers of multi-gigabyte files. 64GB is enough RAM to run any version of Windows and it's far more than any current game requires. ... show more
