  • Buyer beware
Buyers beware....I ordered this laptop . The laptop kept saying it needed updates and the most imporant touchscreen feature did not work even after the updates and trying to check if the touchscreen would make the keyboard to stop working. But when I asked for a refund, I was charged with a restocking fee of almost 40%!! II am disgusted at this exorbitant restocking fee for a defective item. ... show more

  • Don't Waste your time or Money
WARNING: The laptop was advertised as new when I bought it from NextGen, but it WAS NOT! I bought this laptop, and while it worked for about 2 weeks, it eventually stopped turning on or charging ( the charge light won't even turn on). I tried several outlets and a different charger for another HP laptop, and nothing worked. Per the seller's return instructions, I contacted HP first, only to find out the laptop had been modified from its original specs and, therefore, voided the warranty. The RAM and SSD were updated, likely when the malfunction was caused. The laptop had been refurnished and it should've been advertised as such!!! I will be returning the laptop. Don't waste your time buying from them; if you look at their Amazon seller's website, this is not unusual for them (NextGEN). You can definitely find something better and more reliable from a different seller ... show more

  • Terrible build quality
Good things first: The laptop display is very nice, screen quality great. Performance is pretty good too. However, the build quality is terrible. I've had numerous issues in the past, and I see that numerous people had the same/similar problems. (1) The screen is attached to the body using plastic hinges. This almost guarantees that after some time those hinges would break and if you don't fix it immediately, it could potentially cause more damage to the internals. Fixing this was expensive. I spent over $350 to get it fixed. (2) The keyboard has been frustrating. When it works, it's perfect. But, it keeps freezing randomly and way too often. Nothing so far has worked to solve this problem. Software update, driver update, none of it worked. And it's extremely frustrating. I have to restart my laptop every 1-2 hours because the keyboard would freeze. Seeing that so many people had so many similar problems, I would recommend stay way from HP. Their build quality is poor. I would rather spend a bit more and buy a Macbook that's a dozen time more reliable. ... show more
