We highly recommend the Hoverfly Ourea e-bike. We got two of them five months ago and liked them so much that we recently bought a third one. However, there was a problem with this last one, right upon opening the box. The rear wheel was out-of-true (i.e. it was very wobbly). And that is where the company actually came through with flying colors. We emailed them with a short video showing the problem; they responded immediately and shipped us a replacement wheel at no cost. It was easy to replace the wheel. If this incident had not happened, we would be happily riding our e-bikes without bothering to write a review. However, little mishaps can sometime happen and it is just wonderful when a company stands behind its products, the way Hoverfly does. Kudos to Mia from the Hoverfly Support Team who handled this situation quickly and with the utmost professionalism. We are very satisfied customers. They deserve a 5-star rating for their product quality and customer service.

For what this bike is supposed to be, a budget friendly entry level ebike, it is excellent. The overall build quality is pretty solid for something in this price range. The stock tires The bike ships with seem decent enough. I have put about 60 miles on mine so far, both on and off road, and the treads look great and look like they're holding up well. PSI range on the tires is 35-60 psi and I have mine at 50 and definitely have hit a few potholes with no problems from the tires. The brakes work effectively but do squeak a little bit. Acceleration is smooth in both pas and full throttle electric. Mileage will vary depending on use of pas mode or full electric. I just did a 17 mile ride and still had 50% battery life at the end of the ride. While I am giving a 5 star review because I think it is a great entry level ebike, there are some cons. The front suspension in the fork is good, but that is all this bike offers in shock absorption. The ride can feel pretty rough over rougher terrain. I highly recommend getting rid of the stock seat and get a better one that has built in shock absorbing springs and it will make the ride smoother. Speed is limited to 20 mph due to the 500w motor, but to be fair this frame wasn't built for speed. Overall, I am happy I got this bike. It has been fun to ride and I ride it almost daily. I also want to mention that the customer service is adequate, but does leave something to desire. My bike arrived with a bent front wheel and an issue with the LED display. The manufacturer sent out replacements but the speed of communication was a bit slow. I recommend this bike to anyone wanting to entire the world of ebikes without breaking the bank.

Updated this old review for one star. Originally gave it 2. We are now just over 90 days after purchase and Amazon will not help me with this bike nor assist in issuing a full refund. They issued a partial refund shortly after purchase due to issues mentioned below. The bike is now completely inoperable due to a poor design where the cables run against another part of the bike and over time, severe the cables that power the bike! Amazon defers to manufacturer, who refuses to replace the bike or refund bike. They only offer repair, so they want me to send the POS back to TX for a repair that will take who knows how long. They sent a bike box that was delivered to the wrong house and want me to contact them for a shipping label after we receive a box. Manufacturer takes 1-2 days to respond. It has already been two weeks of having an inoperable bike when a replacement bike could have already been sent and built by now. Other issues after the one week mark include: severed brake line, completely bare tread after normal use, battery dies quickly. Highly recommend searching for another beginner e bike. We purchased this for my son’s birthday present. He loves it, but we are already having issues with it and it’s only been used for a little over a week. He gets nowhere near the advertised 40 miles per charge, more like 10 in our neighborhood, although it is quite hilly. The brakes are very squeaky. The last issue he’s had within the first week of use is a popped tire tube. It has not been ridden off the road and my son didn’t recall running over anything, but the tube was pinched and torn in multiple spots, unable to be repaired. Luckily, we had a spare tube, but my husband said it was a pain to get the rear tire off. This bike requires very frequent charging. My son seems to ride it for 15-20 mins and comes back needing to recharge. We have a few steep hills in our neighborhood, which will drain battery quicker, but thought it might last an hour! I can’t wait to see what my next power bill looks like. Amazon wants me to disassemble this hunk of junk and put in a box for a refund, which is not happening. We don’t have the giant box it arrived in. I didn’t think we would be experiencing so many issues one week later. It’s actually been 9 days since it arrived!

Just purchased the Hoverfly Ourea electric mountain bike. The battery will take you 20 miles on a single charge. As you can see in the pics, I've done a few upgrades. Everything on the bike is available from Amazon. It's got a WAKE 60 degrees adjustable rise and makes for a more comfortable ride. The grips are Topcabin lock on, the seat is from a brand no longer on Amazon but there's lots to choose from. The rear rack is a Schwinn bolt on seatpost mount. The rear trunk bag is a Rock Bros,and the best bag I've used. The tires are 26"x2.195 Fincci Leno, they're roughly 1/2" taller than the stock tires and a little wider and they're a road tread. Perfect for commuting. Overall the bike is very well made but requires some tweaks and upgrades, so far I'm very pleased with the Hoverfly Ourea.

Purchased this for my husband for Father’s Day and he and my son are both very happy with it. They have had a great time cruising around. I purchased this specific model because I wanted a pedal-assisted e-bike that capped at 750w so he could ride it on our city’s multi-use trail. He has enjoyed the bike with and without the battery - he loves that he can mostly pedal for a good workout, but use the assist mode for hills. My nearly 16-year old son has been using it almost daily. The only complaint I’ve heard is that the seat is uncomfortable (my son complains, my husband doesn’t) so I am purchasing a padded cover for it. I purchased the black & white model and it is a very attractive bike. We’ve only had it a week, but so far I am very happy with the purchase and glad I surprised him with a great gift!

I’ve put over 50 miles on my Hoverfly OUREA 26" so far, and I’m genuinely impressed. The 750W peak motor delivers smooth, reliable power—whether I’m accelerating from a stop in San Francisco’s hilly streets or cruising at 20 MPH on flat roads. The fat tires and front shock absorber work together beautifully, soaking up potholes and cracked pavement that used to rattle my old bike to pieces. Assembly took less than an hour, and the UL2849 certification gave me peace of mind right out of the box. The range has been the biggest surprise. I consistently get close to 40 miles on pedal-assist, and even using the throttle heavily, I’m still seeing 20+ miles per charge. The removable battery is incredibly convenient—I just carry it upstairs to my apartment instead of hauling the whole 60-pound bike. The 7-speed Shimano gears shift smoothly, and the brakes are responsive and confident. For anyone commuting or doing light trail riding, this bike handles both with ease. At this price point, I honestly expected some compromises, but the Hoverfly OUREA delivers on every promise. Over 100 people bought this in the past month, and I can see why. My only small nitpicks are the basic seat (fine for short rides, upgrade if you’re going 15+ miles) and the headlight (bright enough for streets, not for dark trails). If I could give this zero stars I would. The motor doesn't work, and I cannot get in to contact with support for this product. Calling customer service gives you a couple of minutes of a song before a robot voice says the lines are busy and hangs up for you. No response from emails either. I would be more understanding of a faulty product making it through whatever quality control they may (or may not) have, if I could secure a replacement, but at this point the product just seems like a malicious scam. A decent ebike at this price seemed too good to be true, and it was too good to be true.
