I’ve been using the Hoverfly X5 for about a week, and it’s been a solid upgrade for getting around. Riding within my subdivision is quick and smooth, and it handles neighborhood streets just as well as city ones. Small hills aren’t an issue at all, and the acceleration feels steady and controlled. The suspension definitely makes rides more comfortable, even when the pavement isn’t perfect. I like that the battery lasts long enough for multiple trips before recharging, which saves a lot of hassle. The honeycomb solid tires are another win—no flats to worry about. Folding and storing the scooter is simple, and the electronic code lock is a thoughtful security touch when I leave it outside. I even tried the walk-assist mode once when the battery was low, and it worked better than expected. All in all, it’s a dependable and easy-to-use scooter that makes both short rides and daily commutes a lot more enjoyable.

The battery lasts a long time, so you can go pretty far on a single charge without worrying about it dying. The media could not be loaded. So good i don't know from where to start this review! Let me start by saying that what they claim the features are, they are all there. It is very good sized scooter comparable to other rental scooters you see on the streets. Very high quality, easy to assemble and easy to use. No app, nothing extra needed. Simple 3 button operation. As you can see from a photo it has a kick stand, it folds and its not too heavy to move around. It has front and rare lights that can be turned on or off. It has 2 speed modes: up to 15mph and another that does go all the way to 20mph!! Range is also accurate it has been used for over 2 weeks now with no issues and a decently long rides. Also very important that it does have a security pin code setting so it can not be turned on by strangers and it sounds an alarm also if it is moved while being locked. Overall it exceeded my expectations and i am very pleased with this purchase!

Pretty decent scooter. The screen on it makes the scooter look really cool and the self cruise control is really nice. The range and power are good. The only downside is that it does not have a push button break however if you lift you finger off the throttle then the self braking is activated and it is pretty smooth. Just be careful going down really steep hills. My biggest issue is that the first one I ordered was defect so that left a bad taste in my mouth and had me wondering about the quality of HOVERFLY products. Replacement works great and the Amazon customer service team is just fantastic.

If you’re upgrading from an older-generation scooter or don’t want to spend $700+ on a premium model, here’s my hands-on experience compared to the Xiaomi Mi Scooter Pro 2 (2022 model, rated 45 km / 28 miles range, 350W motor, 500W peak). Test Conditions Total distance tested: 50 km (31 miles) across two tests Rider weight: 120 kg (265 lbs) and 70 kg (150 lbs), tested separately Temperature: 70°F / 21°C Terrain: Mostly flat with small hills, frequent stops Modes used: Mix of “M1” and “D1” Key Results Realistic range (265 lbs): ~9 miles (Note: this is above the official weight limit) Range (150 lbs): ~12 miles Pros FAST - I've seen speeds up to 32-35 km/h, which is too fast for my use but many of you would probably love it Range meets expectations — perfectly fine for daily commutes or short local trips given the price range. Solid build quality — frame feels sturdy and reliable. Shock absorber makes a big difference — noticeably smoother ride versus my old Xiaomi that had none. Portable design — easy enough to carry one-handed. (CRITICAL) 10-inch solid tires — smoother and more stable ride than 8-inch ones, and no more fixing flats (a huge plus!). Trade-offs: Single brake system — not as advanced as dual or triple braking setups found in higher-end models. Handlebar grip — material feels a bit rough or itchy after long rides. Lower battery capacity — shorter range compared to premium scooters, but expected at this price point since the battery is the cost driver. No companion app — lacks app-based features like regenerative braking control or ride stats. Drive mode - I didnt not feel much difference between M1 vs. D1. Front light is useable but not amazing by any measure Bottom line For its price, this scooter offers great value, solid performance, and a surprisingly smooth ride. If you’re looking for a reliable commuter or local errand scooter without breaking the bank, this is a strong contender.
