This Hover-1 Ranger Electric Hoverboard, 7MPH Top Speed, 6 Mile Range, Long Lasting Li-Ion is my first hoverboard, but I'm experienced with riding electric and non-electric skateboards, scooters, and one wheels. There is a bit of a learning curve before I was able to ride this with confidence, but I wanted to mention how much I like all the cool features on this thing. I love that I can connect through Bluetooth and play music through this thing, and the built-in lighting really looks awesome especially if you're crazy enough to ride it around at night. This isn't the fastest or most capable hoverboard, and that's okay because it isn't supposed to be. Where this works the best is for someone's first board, or for someone who just wants to have a bit of fun but isn't trying to use this to travel anywhere because with the limited speed and range unless you're going down the street, you'll end up having to carry the board and walk back with it. Overall, this has been great fun as my first hoverboard, it looks fantastic, and I love the built in Bluetooth functionality to play my favorite music while I'm riding on this thing. Don't get this if you're expecting it to have incredible performance or range because you'll be disappointed. I ordered this hover board for my son who has always wanted one. It is very easy to set up and I like that it connects via Bluetooth. The lights are really cool, too. It took him a bit to get the hang of it, but once he got it, it was easy for him to ride. It holds a charge for several hours before needing a recharge, as well. ... show more

Set up was easy. When the scooter is fully charged, an easily visible indicator light on the actual plug indicates. You can install an Android or iOS app on your phone. The box and manual include an easy-to-use QR code that will direct you to the appropriate app in your app store. Then all that remains is to launch it and pair the scooter with your phone. The app allows you to change the lights and effects, as well as check your speed, distance traveled, and mode. The app is attractive and has some interesting features. It's really cool that you can listen to music while riding the scooter and have the lights change with the beat. This board exceeded my expectations after reading the specifications. It travels about 6 miles for me, which seems reasonable given that I ride it at top speed almost the entire time. And, speaking of speed, this thing can go faster than its stated speed limit on flat ground; mine will reach about 8.5mph on a flat asphalt bike trail, according to the app's speedometer, though it will beep at me until I slow down. This hover board is more on the simple side compared to some beefier models. However, it also includes an app that allows you to manipulate the LED lights as well as play music through the built-in Bluetooth speaker while you’re riding around, track your ride with GPS and adjust your skill level depending on how fast you feel comfortable going. The lights are awesome, and one of my favorite parts about this hover board, especially when you’re riding around in the dark you’re putting on a really cool light show. It has good speed, and does a good job at going uphill. The battery life last for a good while. This might not be the quickest hover board on the market, or the nicest, but it gets the job done. It seems decently well built, and I expect it will last a while. I'm very happy with it and I will continue to use it often.
