This Hover-1 Neo Foldable Electric Scooter comes very well packed. It's extremely easy to assemble, basically just requiring the handlebars to be attached. Once assembled, it requires a few hours to charge out of the box. It will take longer if the battery is fully exhausted. I normally charge it overnight. I have another scooter, which looks very similar. This one operates virtually identically. So, my learning curve was very short. Mine is a little heavier, has a more powerful motor and a larger battery. So, I have that one to make a direct comparison. These little things can be fun for kids to play with as well as can be quite practical in cities or school where you can drive but using the scooter it's possible avoid the hassle and expense of parking. One thing mine lacks, as well as this one, is provision to lock it up. It would be really nice if it had a loop which would allow a typical bike lock to be used. You can jury rig a cable lock and tie it up. But that is not very convenient. It folds up and is small enough it can be tucked under your arm and carried inside if you are working at a location where you have a corner to stand it up in while you are working. As to riding, you basically just twist the throttle lever and go. It is not a "seat of the pants" powerful scooter. You want to hold on when launching so it doesn't run out from under you. But, as compared to mine, which has a 400-watt peak motor, it is not as touchy. That might be better for kids and those less steady on their feet. The top speed is a brisk about 12 MPH on average terrain. Mine is much faster and will hit 20 MPH. But I never ride it that fast. These things are quite stable. But they are very sensitive to "edge traps" where you run into a grove or up against a raised slab, etc, just an inch or so high at a shallow angle. If it does it can easily throw you. I learned about edge traps riding motorcycles, so I am aware of this hazard. Pay attention to that or you can get an unwelcomed lesson. The scooter is relatively smooth on roads. But if the road has much texture to it, you will feel this because of the small high-pressure tires. I'd suggest being aware of your back if you have back issues and practice keeping your legs slightly bent. That will allow the spring of your legs to absorb any shocks of hitting bumps. If you don't do this and stand ramrod straight up the shock will be absorbed by your lower back and can cause injury if you have any problems in that area to start with like I do. This scooter is a little more costly than the one I have and others on the market with the same or higher capabilities. My current scooter, also from Amazon, is about 20% less costly, has an 18 - 20-mile range, and a significantly more powerful motor. I do not typically ride the scooter faster than this one will go. But the additional power headroom is nice for hills and acceleration. The weight of this one is a little lighter, but not enough so to make any difference carrying or handling it. Cost is a consideration. So, in view of everything it loses a star for value.

This is awesome in so many different ways- it looks streamlined with nice colors and the digital display is large and easy to read. It’s very quiet and has lights that you can easily turn on and off- This is the first scooter 🛴 that has lights , which is a nice safety feature- I took a photo so you can see the lights- it comes fully charged and ready to ride right out of the box. Very nice quality! My daughter drives around the neighborhood and to the local grocery store and it seems to have a great battery life. She just gets home and charges it for the next ride. It’s fast enough for her and she has never maxed out the speed, she says it’s fast enough and wouldn’t even need to go faster. Obviously if you are buying it for a teenage boy - He might want to max it out- 😝 This is very sturdy , durable and easy to use. A great way to get around town .

Within 2 months of having this scooter the front tire went flat. The tube inside these tires is near impossible to replace. The front tire is connected by a wire and it can not be removed to take to a tire shop. They need to make the tubes inside the tire better or easier to replace. As of now this scooter is junk and money wasted. Recommend buying a scooter with solid tires.

**Update** Warranty support concerns. Noticed rear suspension was no longer working and checked rear mount that connects the axle and the shock absorber. There was a piece that fell off. Contacted Hover directly, but was told to contact Amazon. Contacted Amazon and they advised when they contacted the manufacture, to contact them and see if they can support the defective part. Hover then states that "The warranty does not support missing parts, unit that has physical damage. We would advise reaching out to the seller for assistance at this time." Not getting the expected support for a defective unit. **Update** We got this as a family scooter for when we are outdoors and/or biking. We have folks ranging from 4'5" to 5'10", 105lbs to 260lbs. The height of the handlebar is fine for this range. The speed for the lighter riders in Eco mode can reach the ~9mph limit. When set to S mode, riders under 160lbs can get to ~16mph, but anyone over it's around ~13mph. The instructions stated as such. The kids and spouse never rode a e-scooter before, and they were able to pick it up in less than an hour. In S mode the kids got the exhilaration, but were not daredevils about it and were fine with the scooter set to Eco mode. I went around the block and street in S mode and just wanted to go faster! It's default setting is set to kick to start, and I'm thinking of changing it to throttle to start once everyone is comfortable with riding the scooter at speed. The tires are air filled and give a cushioned ride over distances. It's a great way to transport in our suburban area roads and streets for short trips like grocery shopping and general fun rides. The ride height is just a bit higher than our Razor scooters, so be mindful of driveways and speedbumps. Regarding overall build, there was one issue where a bit of the plastic molding was still sticking out at the base of the board and handle and I had to cut it off, as the piece was quite sharp. The charging port plug is a must to use to keep moisture out and wish the plug was easier to unplug and replug. The front light and bottom running light is nice and bright, but wish the back red light was a bit brighter. The display is simple to understand and read and it's easy to see at night and in direct sunlight.

I was so excited to get these scooters. I got a 250 watt and this 300 watt. My scooter is 300 watts and rated for 265 pounds and I am 185. After about a quarter mile when we started going up a slight hill, my daughter left me in the dust with the smaller unit, she is about 100 pounds. My scooter got down to about 7 mph and I had to start pumping. We did a couple of loops around the neighborhood and after about 2-3 miles my scooter was on it's last charge and we had to head home. I was hoping to use this for the short commute to work but that is out of the question. This is a great toy for kids, or maybe in the flat city with a 2-3 mile commute but beyond that, it's just not up to it in my opinion. It says up to 12 miles, but I think I would be very lucky to get 4-5 max. The scooter is rated for 265 pounds and I am 180. Based on my daughter riding the V series, I would say this scooter should be rated 150 or less. The scooter itself is made well, If I could afford it I would try one of their Journey Max with a 700Watt motor and 26 mile reported range. At least I think it would move me up the little hills in my town. They are really nice scooters but just a bit generous in the distance and weight ratings, lol.

We got this scooter for our 15-year-old son as a Christmas gift, and it’s been a big hit! It’s perfect for your average-sized teen or adult, but it’s important to note that it’s not designed for taller or heavier riders. I’m 6'4" and 280ish pounds, and unfortunately, I can’t comfortably ride it and the weight limit is 260lbs. From our experience, it’s best suited for riders under 6 feet tall. You might get away with someone slightly taller, but the experience won’t be as comfortable. That said, this scooter is perfect for our son, who’s of average height (5'10) and weight (155) for a teenager. He had never ridden a powered scooter before, and it took him only about 10 minutes to get the hang of it. Most of that time was spent figuring out balance and mobility. It comes about 70-80% charged out of the box, which is ideal for a quick test run. For its maiden voyage, my son rode it about three miles to his grandparents' house using sidewalks and bike lanes while I followed in the car. The battery held up well, but by the time he arrived, it was down to one bar. He mostly used the economy mode for the ride, which helped conserve battery life. On flatter sidewalks, I encouraged him to switch to sport mode to test the higher speeds. It’s worth noting, like any other electric vehicle, the faster you go, the quicker the battery depletes. Based on our test, this scooter wouldn’t have made it back home on the remaining charge, so plan your trips accordingly. Charging is straightforward but has a few quirks. Once plugged in, the charger has an LED indicator—amber or red while charging and green when fully charged. The scooter itself doesn’t display any visual indicators while charging, so you’ll need to rely on the charger’s LED. Also, you can’t power the scooter on while it’s plugged in, and you’ll need to unplug it from the scooter itself, not just the wall outlet. The recharge, from two bars to fully charged took over 2 hours, though I did not set a timer for it, I could be off, so around 2 hours is the best time frame, the closer you are to zero, the longer it will take to recharge. The battery is not removable! As for build quality, the scooter is impressive. It’s made from a combination of metal and limited plastic parts, giving it a sturdy, well-constructed feel. It’s clearly designed for sidewalks and bike lanes and handles those surfaces well with its 8.5” air-filled tires. The ride is smooth and comfortable, especially for a scooter in this price range. Safety is a big priority for us, and I can’t stress this enough—wear proper protective gear! If you ever take a fall, your head is often the first thing to hit the ground. At a minimum, a helmet is a must, but we also recommend elbow and eye protection. Knee pads are a good idea, too, especially for younger or less experienced riders. Overall, this scooter has been a fantastic purchase for our son. It’s fun, durable, and offers a smooth, enjoyable ride. Just make sure to follow the sizing guidelines and plan your rides around the battery range. For teens and smaller adults, this is an excellent choice! Highly recommend.
