I have a manufactured home and the ceiling are low. The original lights hung down about 8in or so. This one I put in the bathroom. Just installed it and it works great for now. I just have one complaint with the remote. You have to be right by the light for it to work. I wish you could at least be 5-10 feet away for it to work. I believe the best thing to do with the dimmer for now is just live it at a setting I like and just use the off on switch. Otherwise, it works great right now. ... show more

This light is big, but other people noted that in their reviews so I was prepared. It is big enough where a one-person installation is a challenge. I hung it from one of the the ceiling box screws with another piece of wire (or you could use string etc) while connecting the electrical wires. The wires run along the top side of the light and could have been a little longer. I thought there would be a gap between the light and the ceiling because of the wires running between the top of the light and the ceiling, but it wasn’t noticeable once it was secured. I was able to tuck the wire nuts into the ceiling box and there were holes in the light that lined up perfectly with the screws in the ceiling box. Overall it was pretty easy. The remote seems a little intermittent but works. Probably just takes some practice. I am happy with this light and would recommend it, just be ready to chuckle when you see how big it is. ... show more
