It took me atleast 90 minutes to put the chest together. It's easy to assemble, just time-consuming because there are 38 screws. It looks great and I'm glad I bought it but because the drawers are made of cloth and they come all the way out if you pull them, I won't be putting anything even moderately heavy in them out of fear that one day, inevitably, someone will pull one all the way out and something heavy or sharp will fall on their foot causing injury. I won't even put a pair of scissors in them or my metal 3-hole punch, for example (I think kid safety scissors are ok though) and my stack of blank printer paper is in a paper holder on the bottom shelf. I can think of atleast a couple ways the company could fix this: put a bar across the top railings that will catch on the back of the drawer so the drawer won't come all the way out or sew a ribbon to the back wall of the drawer and loop the other end around the back bar on the frame so the length of the ribbon will stop the drawer from falling all the way out. If you have small children that climb on furniture or if you are planning on putting a tv on this, you definitely need to secure this to a stud in the wall since it is so narrow (and of couse, also secure the tv to the table using those tv straps). I'd say if you are planning on not overstuffing the drawers or putting only light objects in it, go ahead and buy this. If you do plan on storing heavier stuff in this or have a lot of stuff to store, buy something else that has solid drawers and a mechanism for catching the drawers so they won't fall out and drop the heavy contents on your foot, etc causing injury. ... show more

This item is perfect. It came with all pieces labeled and clear assembly instructions. I assembled it alone in less than 45 minutes. The only tool needed is a Phillips head screw driver. It is very sturdy. I highly recommend.

Great quality for the price. I have a few minor nitpicks, but nothing worth losing a star over. Extremely easy to assemble, except for the fact that there are two kinds of screws that are very hard to tell apart and are not labeled or kept separate in any way. Make sure to look closely at the screws to figure out which are correct! The large screws should be used on all the shelves; the small screws on piece B, the final piece you install. You should have 1 spare screw of each size left over. Trust me, you'll feel it if the screw you're using is too small. Instructions are sparse but it's not rocket science. You just screw the shelves in to one side, then the other, then piece B (the fancy little back of the top shelf). Note that the order of the top three shelves doesn't matter in installation, so if you want to put the four small shelves in the middle/bottom, feel free to swap around. (Nitpick: because the shelves have a small metal tab on the back to prevent the loose drawers from hitting the wall, this does mean that if you mix-and-match their placement, some drawers may not push back as neatly.) Then you assemble the drawers by folding them open, putting the bottom piece in by hand, and screwing on the handles. Extremely easy. Took me about an hour to do by myself while snacking and listening to a podcast. One last nitpick: the sides are not mirrored, so unfortunately one side will show the tiny "blobs" of metal that hold the filigree together. This is super nice! I've had the narrow tower for about 19 months for my painting supplies and got this to go with it. Used plastic dividers in one drawer and organized my essential oil supplies. It now holds masks, household items, pet supplies, craft items, and other items. Bottom is deep enough that I was able to add some brown and beige storage bins. Top holds treats and leashes and other things we need to grab quickly. Posted online and friends immediately wanted to know where I found it. Love how the drawers can be reorganized into different color combinations. The metal underneath each drawer and the cardboard insert covered with fabric lets me put a lot in without worrying about sagging. Took me about 20 minutes to assemble, no help needed. ... show more

Knocking a star because 1) sorry, but it's overpriced, despite being a VERY nice product. 2) It arrived without any assembly instructions at all, no included tools (you will just need a flathead or philips), and one of the screws was defective and would not screw in, so I had to use pliers to force it. Despite not having assembly instructions, I figured it out and it took less than an hour to assemble. Just a bit tedious because there are about 2 dozen screws and many parts. I use this in my bedroom closet as a beautiful dresser for my small amount of clothing. It's extremely sturdy, and the faux wood finish on top is very nice and decently heavy (probably around 7-10 lbs), yet it does not make the unit too top heavy to risk falling over. Each drawer is supported in the center underneath by metal, so you could really put a lot of weight in these drawers. I do not expect the metal to sag/warp in the center over time, due to overall good design and strength. ... show more
