Completely in the dark as to why these include teflon tape! The rest of the engineering is top-notch. I have four of them so far, and none leak. Hand-tight, and barely, at that. The swiveling ability is a perk for a tidy installation. Easy five stars. Not a lot to say other than these are above and beyond expectation. The orifices of sufficient size were what originally got my attention; it can be difficult to find decent-flowing wyes. They may cost a bit more than others, but sometimes the good stuff does cost more. For those saying the valves are hard to turn, that's a sign of quality, in my opinion. I expect these to last a while. I found them easy to not only install, but also use (including the valves, with various hands of differing strengths). I just measured one; the exit aperture barely allowed the blunt end of a drill bit 21/64" to pass. 23/64" did not fit and the drill bit set curiously did not include an 11/32" bit.

This hose splitter is all metal construction which is what we wanted, and looks like it will hold up very well. The valve handles were a little stiff at first but work smoothly after a couple of uses. The valves close completely with no leaks, and the faucet connection is also leak-free. I did not need the teflon tape, but that is a nice bonus to include that just in case it was needed. I also appreciate the extra washers. I am happy with this purchase.

I bought this to replace another whose valve handles had given up. Arrived very fast and in fine condition. I was happy and intrigued it came with pipe dope, as my prior spitter always had a small leak under pressure. I always thought it was a failure of the rubber washers, but not a deal breaker. When I first installed this new one I found it to leak much more than the one it replaced and eventually used quite a bit of pipe dope to stem the issue. Since it was now OK I decided to keep it. Later after reading several reviews and watching some generic you-tube videos on garden hose to faucet install's found out that the thread tolerances in faucets, hose's and splitter/adaptors can vary greatly. So conclusion "tape it till it dont leak"!!!

This brass garden hose fixture does it's intended job very well. It does what it's supposed to, and being brass it should hold up for a very long time. The shut-off levels are a bit stiff, but I suspect that they will loosen over time. Overall, I am very pleased with this splitter! Five stars!
