The distance from where it mounts on the trailer to the bottom is less than ideal. I don't know why they make it so long going down instead of up. Will be very easy to bottom out and ruin. At least its cheap and easy to install.

I have a rotating jack on the side of my old trailer that replaced one like this one a long time ago. I always wanted to go back to a solid mount, so I ordered this one. I was pleased with the quality right out of the box. The manufacturing looks good, the black coating looks thick and didn't chip during my installation or use and the coating/chroming on the foot looks well done. It installed easily into the existing holes in my trailer tongue. The enclosed hardware works fine, but my recommendation is to add a washer to the bolt head on top of the mount, as the existing bolt head didn't fit squarely over the mount hole (see my two pictures showing this). It's not anything wrong with the jack or hardware; I just like to do things the best I can and doing it this way was better for me. Be sure to torque the bolts down to 15-20 ft lbs like is stamped into the mount. Once installed, the jack worked smoothly and much less painfully than my old jack (I really need gloves to turn the handle on the old one). The hand grip on this one is comfortable and allows a good grip, and operates smoothly. The range of travel of the jack is perfect for my truck/trailer/ground conditions where I keep it parked, and has more lift if I need it. I opened the top cover to check out the gear and it is nicely greased. There is also a zerk fitting to add grease to the shaft, which I appreciate a lot. The jack looks easy to maintain, and I feel it will last a long time. Two thumbs up for a good product! :)

I got this to replace the older one I have on my 1961 canned ham camper. Although the original jack still works it's a bit rough and at some point over the last 60 years got slightly bent. This new one has more adjustments which is really nice. I love that you can lift the lower section up higher than the old models so that you don't scrape the driveway when the front end gets too low or going over a speed bump type of situation. With this you can lift it up or extend it out depending on your current needs. There is a grease zerk to keep it lubricated. I can see this working on many different types of trailers. Campers, boat trailer, utility trailer etc. A very nice jack.
