The HotHands Lap Warmer is a wonderful product! I was so happy when I discovered it when looking for portable self-heating packs. I’ve long used the handwarmers, but they are awfully small. The lap warmers are huge — 16” x 10”. It is essentially like 8 of the Super Handwarmers all in one large mat. It is excellent for camping in cooler weather — just activate it and it gets super hot! You do need to be mindful of how hot it can get. If you keep it under a blanket, it stays super warm for many hours! Although it says “Up to 8 hours of Long Lasting Heat”, I’ve had warmers last longer by keeping under a blanket. They are super easy to activate - just open the pack and start shaking them up. Within minutes warmth occurs like magic! I bought several of these for emergency use as well as for camping purpose. I figured if power ever goes out in winter, these could be an instant lifesaver! It just so happened after the last massive ice storm, we were able to donate to a local elderly woman who lived alone and lost power during the ice storm and was unable to get out of her home. Needless to say, this helped her until she was able to get her heating fixed. Definitely worth it to keep on hand! PROS: Excellent portable heat packs, excellent for emergency heat, perfect for camping/RVing. CONS: Can get super-hot — need to be mindful of skin burn potential Overall - HIGHLY RECOMMEND

These HotHands Lap Warmers are incredibly handy and versatile. We use them often at outdoor sporting events and while camping during cooler weather, and they provide consistent, long-lasting warmth exactly when you need it. These were an absolute lifesaver on a cold-weather camping trip. We camped in a super windy area where overnight temps dropped into the low 40s. Easy to use - just open it and heats up in minutes, full strength within 20-30 minutes. I tucked one next to me in my sleeping bag, and I actually ended up kicking one foot out in the middle of the night because I got so warm—something that never happens since I'm always freezing! It was still putting out heat the next morning while I was waiting for the sun to finally burn through the marine layer, which made those chilly early hours so much more comfortable. They are a little pricey, but for me they were worth every penny. If you're someone who's always cold or you camp in cooler weather, these can make the difference between a miserable night and a great night's sleep. I only wish I could find them in bulk packs to make it more affordable.

The HotHands Lap Warmer is hands down the best warming accessory I’ve ever owned. I purchased these for my feral cat for some cold nights we had. 1st let me say that they last and I do mean last. The 1st one I checked it the next day 12 hours later it was still extremely hot. Because they activate with oxygen I simply took it broke apart all the crumbles insthe crumbles inside shook it up a lot and set it down it got extremely hot again. If you were to use these on a camping trip or in an atmosphere that you needed to keep your back warm or your legs warm in a cold building whatever the reason these really are amazing. Because they are activated by oxygen you can put them in a ziploc bag and the activation will halt keepaul's keep in mind you cannot put them in an enclosed area that's tight with no air they won't continue to stay hot. Be careful with pets and young children because when I say they get screaming hot I mean it!! I put a pad over the top and the cat laid on them for several days I changed them out when they got cold it's cold I made sure that the pad was allowing air to get around it and I would shake them up leave them out and put them back. I did feel the price of $10 was too much you you can get the hand warmers for about 99 cents or a $50 at the local big Box ox and I did get these on sale or I would not have purchased $60 worth of them I think the original price was 10 or $12. If you're going to use them for a camping trip and only need them for 2 or 3 nights no big deal I guess. I needed them for an extended period for the cat. Bottom line these things work. Just remember to shake them up and make sure they get oxygen in between all the little granules and let them sit for a little while within 30 minutes those things are HOT! 🔥 If need be you could also separate these by cutting in between them. I halved a couple to save money. Hope this helps!

Amazon, please read this carefully. Normally, this is an excellent product. Today, I opened an order I'd placed for 10 warmers. THREE WARMERS were ripped completely open, which activates them and renders them useless a few hours later. This means they can't heat up. The problem: Amazon put a wrapper over each of these already-open (now useless) lap warmers and re-sold them. Please don't re-sell this excellent product when they've been opened by another customer. Once the package is open, the warmer heats up for a few hours, then turns cold a few hours later. They were designed for one-time use. Again, please don't re-sell this product when the manufacturer's wrapper is open. This also isn't fair to HotHands. Customers may assume the product is defective.

I used this to put in my sleeping bag for camping on a cold night. It was perfect for warming up my feet. Normally I struggle to keep my feet warm no matter what I do. At home and when I'm camping at a site with electricity I can use a heated blanket but for primitive camping I needed something that would last all night and not require electricity. This was exactly the thing.
