These are very thick gloves so they are not that great for doing a lot of types of outside work. That said, they are very warm, even without the heater and very comfortable. They will run circles around any non-heated set of gloves. I know. I own many pairs. The heater has three modes. High - Red, Medium - Green, and Low - Blue. In order to turn them on, the button has to be held for at least three seconds so they can't be turned on accidentally. However, to change the heat levels is a simple push so it's easy to bump them on the top and change it. It's not that big of issue since the led colors are bright and easily noticeable if changed. If they had a "lock" mode coded into the chip, that would be great. The battery lasts okay depending on what temp they are set on. I attribute that more to current battery technology since you are heating a series of coils which is draining for any battery. Overall, I think it's a good compromise between battery size and longevity. These work really well for riding the ATV in cold weather or a motorcycle. They really keep your hands from freezing. They come with a battery for each and a dual charger. I would have given them 5 stars if they had provided an extra set of batteries since it's really needed if you're going to be using them throughout a day. ... show more

My only issue with them is the connection on the batteries and the fact that the batteries look like they were put together as part of a science fair project. Don't lose the cable, and hope you don't have to replace the batteries, because the connectors are definitely non-standard. ... show more

I got these in preparation for leaf season at the homestead. We live in the woods, so leaf removal is an industrial level effort. Multiple weekends with a leaf vac towed behind my yard tractor and a few days with a leaf blower to bat cleanup. By the time the last of the leaves drop, it is usually in the high 30s, low 40s... temps that do not mix well with my arthritis. My hands are the worst, getting cold makes them pretty useless... I usually remedy this by limiting my time outside by returning to the house to warm up. Today I was able to work for four straight hours outside without a break. My hands were nice and warm, I even had to turn the temperature down on the gloves, which in turn extended the time it was heating. I don't know how long they will last, but they were good for at least four hours of continual heating. The gloves were a bit snug on me. I use XL gloves and these were a bit tight on me. Perhaps that is space taken up by the heating mechanism or battery, but it wasn't a problem, just a note of caution when choosing sizes. THe battery charger is easy to use. The battery compartment is on the back of the hand, and you disconnect the 3.5 mm plug and connect to the charger. The charger has two cables, so you can charge both batteries at the same time. This came packaged well and came with decent instructions. The batteries charged quickly and the charger has a green and red light indicator on it to show when the battery packs are full. It's a proprietary charging system so you just have to make sure you don't lose the charging block or damage it. Unlike others which are USB based, this requires the factory charging block and cord. That may be an issue in the future. The gloves fit nice and are warm even without the heater being used. The size chart was fairly accurate, perhaps a little on the large side. The battery life seems to be fairly accurate as well. Water beaded up fairly easily and didn't appear to soak in so these would be great for snow. At the highest setting, these were nice and toasty despite almost 0° weather outside. They heated up in less than 2 minutes with heat being felt within 30 seconds. Very nice gloves over all. I would recommend with a few caveats. Pros: Battery life is good with moderate use and recharge time is relatively quick. Gloves warm up quickly when set to "high", which I always did at first, then adjusted as needed. Buttons are sufficiently large that they are easily used while wearing the gloves. Gloves are designed for winter so even unheated provide some protection from the cold. Cons: Extended cuff cannot be adjusted which may cause issues when also wearing coat sleeves that are also bulky and not designed for it. Batteries are located in the top of the cuff, and may be inconvenient if you also wear a watch at the same location. Did not actually impair or damage my watch however. They are definitely winter gloves, so manual dexterity is reduced due to bulk. Lights on glove tops are bright, which allows easy access during the day, but could be a distraction when driving at night. Heat is delivered mostly to the top of the hand; heat to fingers takes a little longer and is always less than the heat over the top. ... show more
