I ordered these because I always have cold extremities, especially cold feet in the winter. I tried these for a charity Light the Night Walk in a chilly evening. These were perfectly sized for my mens size 8.5 feet. They were easy to place into the bottom of my socks, and initially they were comfortable to walk using these. These are not hot, but warm for the long haul. I walked the Light the Night Walk fine with these, but then we walked an additional mile to go eat, and a mile back. By the time I got back to my car, around 10,000 steps, I had blisters on my heel and toes. I do think this was an extreme test of these. But I would recommend using these when you are not walking a long distance. Overall, these were more comfortable than I expected for short distance walking. They also kept my feet warm for the long evening. These would be well suited for sitting outside at a football game or any winter outdoor event. Another minor issue is these were difficult to peel off of my socks when I was done. I wouldn't recommend sticking these on to delicate socks or stockings. I've been using these for camping in cold weather and they've kept my feet warm through the night and early morning hours. During a recent trip with temps in the low 30s, they provided steady warmth for about 8-10 hours. The activation is simple - open the package, shake them a bit, stick them in your boots or sleeping socks, and they heat up within about 10 minutes. The adhesive backing keeps them in place inside boots or on the bottom of thick wool socks. The thin design is key. They don't add bulk, so my boots still fit normally and they work great inside a sleeping bag without feeling awkward. The heat spreads evenly across the bottom of my foot rather than creating hot spots. I've used them on overnight camping trips and they maintain steady warmth from evening setup through breaking camp in the morning. They don't get blazing hot, just a consistent comfortable warmth that prevents cold feet from ruining sleep. The 25-pair pack is good value for multiple camping trips throughout the season. Returning these. Out of three days, they really have only worked once and they were minimally warm. Nothing like the brand that I used last year and the year before. Very unsatisfied with these.

I've only used handwarmers and toe warmers in the past. I thought I'd give these full-size foot warmers a try. Being so thin, they do not get as hot as hand warmers, nor even as hot as toe warmers. They are thinner than toe warmers. In fact after wearing these in my boots, I decided I'd rather use toe warmers rather than these thinner full-size foot warmers. The toe warmers get significantly hotter, and who needs heat on their heels anyway? It's your toes that get cold. Better to have more heat around your toes. Toe warmers also give you the option of putting them on the top or the bottom of your toes, or both. These do not. Walking on these inside your boots, you can feel them with every step, and they act like a bad-fitting insole. I don't think these are a good idea. Stick to toe warmers. ... show more

These foot warmers actually work surprisingly well. They insert easily into any footwear. Keep in mind that because of this, they’re not very large, and won’t fill the entire insole of larger size shoes and boots. So, even though not overly thick, they probably wouldn’t be overly comfortable if you’re doing a lot of walking or hiking. I see these much more useful in situations where you’re not likely to be moving too much, such as watching outdoor sporting events, sitting in a tree blind, ice fishing, any fishing in the cold for that matter, or anywhere you might be sitting or standing for a long period of time in the cold. They actually do put out heat for several hours, and really help to keep your feet warm. My wife’s feet get cold easily, so she’s looking forward to using these this winter. The price is also excellent at around $1.00 per pair. I’ve seen similar in sporting good stores, and farm and ranch type stores, and they are priced considerably higher than these. That puts these in the high value bracket in my book. ... show more
