I am not someone who ordinarily gives online reviews or recommendations. However given my experience with both this product and the company, I thought I would provide some feedback. By way of background, in our master bathroom we had an old two-piece conventional toilet to which we added a bidet seat approximately seven years ago. The bidet seat is fine. Basic wash functions and heated seat. The toilet is however aging. It already had undergone multiple repairs. It was time to replace the toilet, and the decision was made to go to a one piece bidet type system. After doing some research, it was clear that the name brands like Kohler and Toto had excellent reputations and features, but at upwards of $5000, really unaffordable. We wanted something more cost-effective with equal or better technology. After doing some online research, and watching numerous videos, we found the Horow T38. Certainly, the specs suggested excellent price-performance ratio. Reviews seemed generally excellent. I knew that one had to be very careful with dimensions and measurements. Not only the offset from the back wall to the center of the flange (ours was the usual 12”), but also the distance from center line to the angle stop and water line on the left, as well as the GFCI electrical outlet on the right. I reached out to the Horos customer support people by email. They responded immediately and were very timely with appropriate assistance, information, diagrams and drawings. Note that other buyers had equally commented on the excellent customer support. Purchasing from Amazon made sense, with free shipping as a Prime member, but also in my case they offered a Deluxe Delivery Service for a relatively small extra charge. The uniformed Amazon delivery team used a hand truck and brought the rather heavy (100 pounds) box to the spot I wanted near the bathroom. They uncrated the unit. They let me take time to inspect the unit and to take additional measurements to confirm that this would fit given my particular conditions. Had I had any concerns about the unit fitting my space, or if I just chose not to keep it, Amazon would have taken the unit back immediately without questioning for a full refund under the deluxe delivery plan. The unit looked fine. The delivery team would also have taken back all of the packaging and Styrofoam for re-processing; however, I chose to hang onto it for now. The T38 comes with all the necessary installation hardware, including a new toilet flange and wax seal if you need them. You will need hand tools and Teflon tape (see the installation instructions). There is also a nice template if you are unsure of exact positioning and dimensions. The installation instructions are reasonably good. If you have any familiarity with swapping out a toilet, there should be no problem. I would however suggest going to YouTube and seeking out Horos T38 videos, and watch them a few times to get a better feel for installation and handling. Also maybe download the installation manual from the Horos page, and read this through a couple of times. Given the weight of the toilet, you will want a second person to help. Note that the toilet mounts to the floor somewhat differently than a conventional toilet. Specifically, there are plastic brackets that attach to the flange bolts. The toilet is then lowered onto the seal and flange, and then you insert long threaded screws into holes in the sides of the toilet which tap into the plastic brackets. Note specifically that during installation, it might appear that the long screws that are provided are too short. However, if you angle the screws down towards the floor, you will engage the plastic brackets and then you can tighten up the screws to secure the toilet. OK, so how do we like the toilet? We actually love it. It has all of the features. Very high tech. Proximity sensing, automatic seat opening, with the front toe tap button to lift the seat for the husband, and keep the wife happy. Auto flush and seat/lid closure. Mood light and night light. UV sterilization. Since this low profile 1 piece toilet does not use a gravity flush system, the engineering is important. The T38 uses an electric pump driven system and also uses a suction system. Overall, the flush and bowl clearing is outstanding. Because the flush is electrically operated, in a power failure you will not be able to flush the toilet (unless your home has a standby generator or storage battery system). Therefore, I would strongly recommend that you purchase the optional back up battery pack, and install this before you install the toilet (easier to do upfront than later). Overall, a 5 star experience. Now we walk past other toilets in the house to seek out this one. It’s hard to go back to the old version. Time to maybe get an electrician to add an outlet next to another toilet and install another T38.

One of my better purchases! I was reluctant and apprehensive at first, but wanted to see what all of Europe is talking about! This toilet is great! Fully automatic lid and seat, night light, heated seat, bidet, heated water, heated blow dryer! It even self cleans the bowl to the point where you only have to brush clean it once a month! It pays for itself in less than three years because you don't need to buy toilet paper anymore! Helps the environment and your wallet! It says it's a DIY, but I hired a plumber and it took him two hours. The feeder pipe had to be relocated and a new ring installed, plus it's pretty heavy. I also had to bring in an electrician to install a GFCI electrical outlet. It can be DIY if your fit and handy, but it was much easier hiring a pro!

I’ve been using the Horow T38 for a few days now, and OMG I couldn’t be happier. The design is so sleek and modern. It instantly makes the bathroom feel more high-end. Several friends who saw it have commented on how cool it looks! A few other things to highlight: Installation was surprisingly easy. I was a little worried at first, but the instructions were clear, and the whole process was pretty straightforward. It didn’t take long at all. Functionally, it’s amazing. The bidet features make everything feel way more hygienic than using toilet paper alone. I also love that you can adjust the water temperature and pressure to your liking, and the self-cleaning nozzle is a great bonus. My favorite part is how convenient it is to use. The lid opens and closes automatically, and the flush is hands-free. It just makes daily use super convenient. For everything it offers, I think it’s an amazing value. You’re getting features usually found in much more expensive models. I never thought I’d care this much about a toilet, but here we are. Highly recommend if you’re thinking about upgrading!

I was a little nervous buying a $1000.00 toilet from a company I had never heard of. After purchasing, I inquired about buying a battery backup bc I was imagining a guest using the toilet and having the power go out – They mailed me one. Then they followed up asking how I liked the toilet and was there anything they could help with. I mentioned a plastic part got “a little damaged” during shipping – that it still worked fine and the part is not visible when installation is done – they sent me one and again asked if I needed any help. I thought that this level of service had gone extinct! Now, on to the toilet. It’s really cool and was the talk of the Christmas gathering. Now that I’ve had it a few weeks I like it even more. You don’t have to touch the seat to raise it, you can’t forget to put it down – all automatic. I has a much stronger flush than my old standard toilet. When you sit it pre-moistens the bowl so particulates don’t stick then with the power of the flush we haven’t used a toilet brush since the installation. Warm water bidet and heated seat! These two features alone make this a great purchase. Well built, all porcelain bowl not plastic (over 100 pounds) I’m going to buy another for our on-suite.

We are so happy with this toilet! Wasn’t the easiest to install, got a plumber to assist but well worth it! So many features for the price. Would recommend to anyone price conscious who wants the luxury features like seat warmer, auto flush, foot sensor, pre-rinse, vacuum flush and bidet, posterior and feminine wash. We haven’t reviewed the seasonal lights yet but another plus to look forward to. At some point we will get the battery backup, but because we live in Hawaii, we are unable to order and have it delivered here. One day we will buy it on the continent and bring it back home. Never been so happy with my bathroom experience!

Absolutely horrible toilet. Will not flush solids without getting clogged. Have been spending 10 to 15 minutes each time trying to get it unclogged with a plunger. Obviously a design flaw with the jet pressure not being good enough. My previous smart toilet was pressurized from the house water pressure and never got clogged. This one uses very weak pump from a holding tank. Have reached out to AMAZON who told me to reach out to Horow directly. I will update this review once things are resolved.

You know buying a smart toilet is a step into the technology side I would never imagine to spend my money, but not only did I buy once, I bought two toilets for both of my homes, and I have to say it's been such great gadet. It elevates your bathroom instantly. one thing I would say is you have to map out the size of the toilet and the space you have, when you install it you have to kind of tilt it to the side and then make it center. It also has the battery pack, if you bought it, make sure you add it before you install the toilet to the rings because of the little space you have on the back. The cleaning piece they have some toilet cleaner in the back, I have not used this, but if you can add natural cleaning products should be fine just not anything abrasive. The pre wet settings was getting used too. If you are doing a bathroom remodel like myself, I think it's worth adding to it, and getting an upgrade! Highly recommend
