I donโ€™t trust cables! Too easy to cut! And I donโ€™t trust finger print IDs unless you want to pay $400 and up for a good one. Simple key lock on a heavy metal box. Iโ€™m drilling a couple holes in the bottom and bolting it inside the console of my F150. I just have to be careful not to drill into the power cables for the 120v or 12v outlets or the AC hoses on the back of the console. ... show more

I use this in a vehicle. If you want this for home security it isnโ€™t the right product for to the need for a key. You are better off with a biometric lock. For a vehicle though this is great. You just need a small (short) spot this can slide into while being easily accessible. Wish it had an easier key to open. Last thing you want to do in a crisses or hurry is fumble with key to unlock your gun. Second, wish it had a water proof or resistant seal as I use this in the bed of my truck where water could enter the gun safe.

Fits under the seat of a Altima, accessed from the rear - enough steel cable to pull the safe up onto the console between the driver and passenger seat and access the safe. Fits a full sized sidearm and magazines. Sturdy design with a solid bar system instead of a tab, always go for the alpha elite.
