I seldom write reviews, but there’s so few on this safe that I decided to chime in. This safe is heavier than any other this size that I’ve found. The programming instructions are clear. The entire inside (including both sides of the adjustable shelf) are covered with heavy fabric. There’s an LED that illuminates when opening the door. And most importantly the combination opens the safe 100% of the time. The only small fault I can find (and I’m nit-picking) is that there’s no way to illuminate the keys without pressing one, which counts toward the unlocking combination. I am happy that I settled with the purchase of the Hornady Fireproof Safe. I originally wanted a quick open safe but the fingerprint reader on the one I purchased was faulty and so I decided on this safe. Pros: Holds more than the quick open safes I looked at. My wife has a shelf for her stuff. The Honady handgun stand fits inside, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KCTFTDZ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details This safe gives some peace of mind because of the fireproof rating. The light on the inside edge of the door provides sufficient illumination to the safe when open. Cons: The door lock-handle sucks, it does not allow a grip to open the door, it has grooves which are perpendicular to the door and these grooves should be parallel to provide some grip. This is the biggest negative with this safe, how could the design engineers not realize that this is an issue? The safe comes with concrete bolts, okay if you have a concrete foundation, but I bet most people install this safe in a closet mounted to a wood floor. A key rack would be a nice addition. I am not sure how secure the safe is with the optional key lock, hopefully it is hard to pick. So, in addition to bolting the safe to the floor, I added a Ring Motion Sensor inside the room to safeguard the safe. ... show more

Hornady fireproof Safe perfect size for what I need I own 2 big gun safes which are down stairs. Fits the bill perfectly for me personally. I hope it will keep working for a long time wish had longer fire safe rating . I guess you get what ya pay for The lite up key pad is nice not much of a lite inside but should be enough in a dark bedroom for the hopefully never happens bump in the night ... show more

Functionally seems OK. Not great. Came with white powder all over the front and smells like they just pulled it from a house fire. The sticker on the back was so old it just crumpled when I removed it. Probably ten years old. Don't buy this from Amazon. Buy it from their website.
