Solid construction, not like the ones you have to assemble. Unbolt 2 bolts, drop it in the factory console, bolt it down and you're done. After reading the reviews, I was hesitant to buy this safe. I have a 2021 Toyota Tacoma SR5. I just had to open the compartment, lift a small rug, remove two 10mm socket screws, insert the security box and put two screws with an L key that are included in the package. Installation time was 5 minutes. The only problem that exists is that the phone charger cable that is connected in that compartment does not have a special slot to remove the cable. It can be removed through the lid of the box but over time the connection will be damaged. ... show more

It works great and fits in the arm rest well. Only issue with it is that I have the dual USB port in my truck and the opening is not big enough for the bottom usb.

    • Absolutely DOES NOT line up with Tacoma USB ports or bolt positioning
Like so many reviews, you can not just put this in and bolt it down. The vault holes for inserting bolts do not line up with the Tacoma bolt receivers. So at worst you put them in partially at and angle and ruin the threads - at best you drill out the holes with a metal drill bit but if you do you can't return it. The worst part is the opening for the USB ports is not well positioned. You cannot open the lower port cover!! Huh?? Also, keep in mind there is NO opening to feed your phone charger up and out of this vault. So you need your vault lid (and console top) open to utilize these. Why I'm choosing to return vs. modify. I'm extremely adept at car maintenance and aftermarket add-ons. This one is NOT WORTH IT. This is a poor cheap Chinese knock off that Amazon should remove. ... show more

This is amazing at an incredible price! Most console safes are over $250! 5 minute install. Easy to use, quick to open / lock. There is a hole for the interior charging plugs. I highly recommend for your valuables.

The overall dimensions fits the console pretty spot on and still leaves a good amount of space inside the console once installed. It does require quiet a bit of cutting and grinding to get the USB charger to fit. The mounting holes are not lined up properly so I had to drill and open up some more space for the mounting bolt to line up properly. The kit came with bolts that are the right thread pitch and fit but it did not come with any washers. I used a Dremel with metal cutting wheel and a grinding but to smooth out the burrs. I will probably have to spray paint it to prevent it from rusting. ... show more

At this price I was able to purchase a 5/8" Combination Lock and a pair of 1 1/2" spring loaded hinges. The lock did require some filing to fit. The hinges allow the top to stay open so that one hand can be used.All original holes and USB matched on a 2017 Tacoma. I did have to shim the console cover latch the thickness of the cover so it would latch properly. The primary reason I bought this was for the 6.9" opening. 5x5" was unsatisfactory for my needs. It is not waterproof, do not leave Moon Roof models open in the rain. ... show more
