Solid construction, not like the ones you have to assemble. Unbolt 2 bolts, drop it in the factory console, bolt it down and you're done. Fit perfectly in my 2017 tacoma, gives me peace of mine that its way harder to steal my valuables locked in the steel box. Couldn't fasten both bolts without opening up one of the holes side a bit more, but other than that seems fine. Might interfere with 1 USB plug in the center console area but I never use those anyway so no big deal to me.

    • Absolutely DOES NOT line up with Tacoma USB ports or bolt positioning
Like so many reviews, you can not just put this in and bolt it down. The vault holes for inserting bolts do not line up with the Tacoma bolt receivers. So at worst you put them in partially at and angle and ruin the threads - at best you drill out the holes with a metal drill bit but if you do you can't return it. The worst part is the opening for the USB ports is not well positioned. You cannot open the lower port cover!! Huh?? Also, keep in mind there is NO opening to feed your phone charger up and out of this vault. So you need your vault lid (and console top) open to utilize these. Why I'm choosing to return vs. modify. I'm extremely adept at car maintenance and aftermarket add-ons. This one is NOT WORTH IT. This is a poor cheap Chinese knock off that Amazon should remove. ... show more

Got it opened and seemed like good quality until I went to put together and install it. Went to put the handle on and the nut did not screw onto it. I ended up cross threading it on it but still would get all the way tight so it now rattling. The nut just spins freely won’t tighten or loosen. Also like other people have said hole for the plugs does not line up as well as one of the screw holes did not line up for me and the threading isn’t exact to factory. I did get it in and mounted with alittle force and will work for what I need since it’s easier to make it work then to return it. Definitely disappointed in what this company thinks is quality. ... show more

    • Fit with do drilling!!!!
After reading the reviews I thought I'd be drilling and cutting to make this fit my gen 3 🌮. However to my surprise it fit with mods. We'll, I did cut out a channel for the charger cable to co.e out of the box while locked, to the wireless charger/holder thing for the cell phone. But no cutting to line up the screw holes, or the power outlet. I have a 2018 tacoma sr5. There's only a cigarette lighter output inside my console, if that matters... happy with purchase and plan to add some pluck n pull foam to secure the items I will be concealing in there. I do have this brands rear cargo area locking face/box, and it does- as other have mentioned- use the same key. Good deal for me, but, if any car thieves are reading this... nevermind I'm just playing! (But yeah it's the same key, shhh). Just a lock box, not a safe by any means, but good for stopping the smash and grabbers. ... show more
