Backlight and simple display make this more readable than others. But I wish the light would stay on always. Keeps very constant temperature, if you don't restrict the cycles per hour. Easy enough to use that even I can understand it.

Because my AC condenser keep freezing up due to being clogged with dirt (since rectified) I wanted a much easier way to switch the fan from Auto to On so I could run the fan with the compressor off to aid in thawing. Our old programmable thermostat took too many steps to get this done so I ditched it in favor of something easier to use. This thermostat could not be easier to use. Since this is much smaller than my old thermostat I did have to dig out my old can of paint in order to make the wall pretty again. One thing I really liked was that all the default settings fit my situation, gas furnace and conventional split unit AC, single transformer so it was ready to go out of the box. Color coded wiring matched my old unit. I discerned that C = Cyan (Blue). About 4 1/2 inches wide. One press to turn on backlight, then adjust as needed. ... show more

This thermostat is an exact replacement for my 12 year old one. Wiring was color coded and basically dummy proof. You will need a tiny screw driver similar to what is found in an eyeglass repair kit to install the wires. The whole installation process took about 15-20 minutes and the thermostat is proving to be very accurate with room temp. I am very pleased with this purchase. ... show more

Good no frills thermostat with a large display that is easy to read. Make sure you get the right model as they make a similar one with a smaller display. Good control of features through the installed menu. Great for people with vision issues who don’t want the latest tech.
