OK here's the deal. I love the fact that with this filter, you can still use the same lens cap that came with your lens. With my other ND filters, I have to size up on those. Using this on a 16-35mm lens, there are no visible X even at it's darkest but of course you'll see some vignetting. With any variable ND filters, including the pricey ones, vignetting would be pronounced when used at it's darkest so that's not really an issue. It just the nature of these things. I would give this a 5 star but I had issue with the case and had to be replaced. It's a tin can that you twist to open but the one I received had a little ding and it made turning it hard and in my case, I couldn't even open it. ... show more

Not bad! Gotta say I’m impressed. They definitely keep those over exposure shots under control. Specially when you want to shoot at a low F stop. Attached are some shots I took during a hike in the Mojave desert and yes the sun was real bright! These are post edit but wouldn’t of been possible without these filters. The quality of this filter is superb! It has a quality build and feel in your hand. The glass element looks high grade and it has a hard stop on each end of the variable ND that doesn’t let the lens keep rotating past it’s limit of ND. I’m gonna buy more!

I purchased two of these Urth ND filters, one in the 52mm thread and the other in a 58mm thread. I use both on my Sony ZV-1 with the standard lens and the larger of the two when using the Ulanzi WL-1 wide-angle lens. Good marking on the filter to show where you are at in the ND range, hard stops and both ends, and minimal (if any) color cast. I have seen none of the dreaded "X" patterns of cross-polarization anywhere throughout the ND range. This is a "shut up and take my money" product. Purchase with confidence. ... show more

I got the 58mm for my Canon 6D. It fits snug and looks great. This is my first filter and it makes me want more. I love the ease of changing the amount of filter just by a quick turn of the filter itself. Right away I noticed how it helped minimize intense light glares and brought out deep shadows. Nice packaging and presentation. The filter feels nicely made and I like that it has hard stops at the top and bottom of the range. Nice feature. However, every image shot through this filter was softer and lacked the usual detail that I get when shooting the exact same set up (Leica M7 + Fuji Acros 100) with no filter. I wish I could return this as it wasn’t inexpensive but it took me too long to process all of my film and I missed the window for return. Going back to my B+W non-variable ND. ... show more

So I bit the bullet and purchased a variable ND filter. Previously I had the screw on kind and doubled or tripled up the filters for darker and darker neutral density as required. Variable is the way to go. Comes with a metal storage box and a swatch of cloth. I use it exclusively on my vintage manual lenses. The storage tin is nice to have, but if it added to the price, would rather taken a lower price. Don't get me wrong this storage tin with foam insert is top notch, not cheapy and a keeper, but now it adds to the camera clutter. ... show more

This is my third order from Gobe and I will continue to use them for filters. This is my second Var ND filter the first was for my DSLR and this one for my GoPro setup. Both came package well with cleaning cloths they have performed as advertised, no color cast in my pictures or video.
