  • good product
Pretty good product a little tricky when it comes to changing from the European to US standard. There is a little hole in the front panel when you open up the door in which you use a sim pin or paperclip to change to the Fahrenheit and not military setting. Maybe off by 2 degrees.

  • Buy this model, Honeywell Home YRLV4300A1014 for electric heat!
Went two years in my new townhouse with junk thermostats that didn't control anything except whether you were freezing cold or wasting money sweating hot. Bought this Honeywell Home YRLV4300A1014 and wish I did 2 years ago. Mine was a easy 2 wire non polarised installation so can't connect the wrongs wires together which was cool both my wires were solid black in the electric box (saved me the hassle of getting my voltmeter out to check wire polarity). Had this installed for about 2 weeks now and I can't believe how accurate this thing is. You set it to a temp and it stays that temperature. I doubled check the accuracy of this unit with 2 different thermometers and it's always reading exactly what it should which is 70 degrees. The fact that the backlight runs on the power from wires and not a battery is a bonus as well is the progamable features. I don't use the programming feature cause me and my wife work different varying shifts and we have cold blooded reptiles that terrarium temperatures fluctuate depending on room temperature. Wish I would have just ponied up the $40 two years ago cause it would have saved me more than that in wasted electricity and been way more comfortable. No more wondering is it cold or hot in here or is it just me, cause it's always 70 degrees. Plug in a vaporizer or humidifier and that 70 degrees turns into a warmth that will make you fall asleep on the couch with the TV on. I'm 36 and married with 3 kids and this purchase brought me joy cause it worked so well. Yeah it's sad and pathetic but oh well who cares it's 70 degrees like it should be. ... show more

  • Would not turn off heat
Installed for a simple baseboard heater. Wanted the programmable features to automatically turn on and off according to schedule. Once figuring how to install with a 4-wire configuration, I set the time/day, programmed the auto setting (easy but antiquated way), and waited for the programming to take effect. But no matter what I did, including switching to manual mode, the heat would not shut off. There must be something faulty in the electronics, because everything appeared functional. Ended up returning and reinstalling my original thermostat which is still functioning properly. ... show more

  • Replacement worked
Update: 3/27/23, I was able to get a replacement and it’s working. Changed to 4 stars. I bought 2 RLV4300’s and one of them is not working. I installed and programmed them both the same way according to the instructions. The one that isn’t working keeps cycling through 4 different screens and won’t turn the heater on. ... show more

  • Working good so far
This thermostat was easy to wire in because I had the older, non-programmable version from a few years ago already installed. I just had to swap them out. The tricky part was that the clearance holes in the unit itself did not allow the use of a normal sized screw driver. The screw head is a combination square drive or flat head. I didn't have a skinny enough driver for either of those that would fit through the clearance holes. I used a precision screw driver and was careful not to over torque so I wouldn't destroy my screw driver. Fairly easy to program and so far they are working well. You really need a programmable thermostat if you have electric baseboard heating and your family is oblivious (or just cannot remember) to turn the heat down when they are not in the room for a prolonged period. This unit will eventually turn the heat down based on how you program it and it will save you money. ... show more

  • Thermostat for electric heaters
Great product, very economical to use in place of just basic wall temp setter for baseboard electric or ceiling heaters, easy to program

  • Great Thermostat
If you are freaking out over the picture someone has of a burned up wire nut, I doubt it's because of the thermostat. All thermostats come with stranded wire, and if you don't "tin" that when you connect it to a solid wire feed, the connection will heat up when it gets loose. So if you don't know what you're doing, get somebody who does to install it for you. I bought the "old" version and am very pleased with it. Easy to install, and I love the programmability after having a dial style for 15 years. It's silent, and easy to program if you follow directions well. The green backlight is much more subdued than the website photo. ... show more

  • Literally Saved the Day!
We have lived in an apartment with Electric baseboard heaters the past 4 years. The dials we used to have pretty much were on/off switches we couldn’t leave the one in our bedroom on overnight because it never shut off. This programmable thermostat has let us live in comfort all day long. We don’t have to even think about it! ... show more
