2 wire Furnace very simple. Furnace works hotwired. Two micro switches control the thermostat. None of the eight possible switch combinations work. Ergo: defective thermostat. I really wish I could find a good old fashioned mercury thermostat.

This is a replacement for another of the same model which failed after two years. They work fine until they don't. The one this replaced just started continuously calling for heat. They're "accurate enough" and are easy to install. Amazon however leaves a lot to be desired. The one I received was obviously returned by someone else. The tape on the box was broken and the contents loosely positioned inside. Everything seems to have been in the box and I don't believe it was installed and it seems to work okay in my quick testing. Amazon should have sold this one as "reconditioned" or "open box". ... show more
