  • Works perfectly and is so reliable!
Size: (NEW) 4000 Sq. Ft w/ Pump
Works like a charm! Very easy to move, as it has wheels. Emptying manually is easy because of a handle to carry it to a nearby sink to dump the water. When we’re gone for extended periods, we place it in our kitchen counter and use the drain hose, which works perfectly. It keeps the humidity levels to within 2-3 points or exactly to where you program it to be, even in humid climates, like Florida. We also love that it’s energy efficient. Would highly recommend purchasing! ... show more

  • Great product
This works very well and was fairly easy to set up. Our unfinished basement stays at consistent humidity, smells better, and we don’t have to worry about mold. As far as we can tell it can’t be using much energy as it had no impact on our bill

  • It's working ok.
I've been using this for about a week in an uninsulated, unheated and not-very-tight roughly 200 sf small garage. Humidity had been about 79% which is certainly too high. I wanted a unit that could bring that down to the 50s during the cool winter months (summers are not a problem.) This humidifier does feel like a substantial and nicely designed unit. All the buttons and options work well. So, a few points: 1. The humidity sensor is wildly off, typically reading 79 to 90 percent, whereas my calibrated humidity monitor reads in the 60s. 2. Not overly loud, but not quiet either. With the compressor running and the fan on high it is about 63 dbA. I can't hear it outside the garage, so it's still ok. But, I wouldn't want to use this in a living space. 3. The fan runs ALL the time. It never shuts off. At least I've never seen it shut off. And the fan alone consumes over 38 watts (387 watts with the compressor running). I have had other dehumidifiers where the fan does shut off, completely, when the desired humidity is reached. With the fan always running even when not needed, it is wasted energy and money. 4. It runs in defrost mode A LOT. I'll often check on the dehumidifier, and it seems like it is MOSTLY in defrost mode, and this in the mid 50s temperature. Even if set on continuous and there is no frost in sight, it spends a lot of time defrosting, and not dehumidifying. 5. It has not been very successful at dehumidifying the garage. The garage was at 79% and is now at 64%, but I was really expecting more. I wanted the garage to be in the 50s, so it's 10% humidity short. So, it has been ok, just ok, but not impressive and not really what I was expecting or wanted. If it brought the humidity to the 50s, I'd be ok, but it hasn't yet. I'm contemplating returning this and getting a 50 ppd ALORAIR unit. It costs more but you get more and you get a great 5-year warranty and nationwide repair places. The alternative is to stick with the Honeywell until it breads and be disappointed the entire time. Update @ 2 weeks: The humidity in the garage is now about 55% which is where I am satisfied. I am using the continuous drainage hose into a 5-gallon bucket with lid with a small hole to allow insertion of the drainage tube. I had to elevate the dehumidifier about 1 foot to drain into the bucket. This is much more convenient than using the internal bucket which needed to be emptied twice daily. The 5-gallon bucket needs emptying much less frequently. So far, about 5 gallons of water have been collected. I had to adjust the humidity sensor to 75% to get the compressor to shut off with humidity in the 50s. I would like the ability to calibrate the sensor. Without that, you just have to experiment to get a setting that works. Eventually, the fan does shut off, which I'm happy about. The unit consumes 0.3 watts when the fan and compressor is not running. The better performance is in part due to a "warm" spell we are having with temps in the low 60s. I'll update on how well it is able to maintain the humidity levels when the weather turns colder again. I'm a little more satisfied now, so I'm increasing the star rating from 3 to 4. ... show more

  • Excellent so far- But understand how the timer works
Size: 4000 Sq. Ft
Overall very happy. Some notes below. Normally I hate smart appliances, but really consider the Wifi version of this unit instead, or grab a wifi outlet like I suggest. Ignore the review that says it "runs non stop no matter what." The manually explains when and why the fan runs (which is separate from the compressor), even in cases where the humidity set point has been reached. In colder temperatures you'll experience more fan run time because it uses the fan as a coil defrost mechanism (vs a heating element). Timer - So I thought the timer feature could be used to turn the entire unit on and off automatically every day. Like, a schedule to run from 8pm to 8am. Nope. Sadly the timer is just a *single-use* delay start or delay stop. But! But! Never fear- the unit automatically resumes all of it's previous settings, and turns its self back on, after a power loss. This means you can attach a cheap wifi controlled power outlet to it and use that to program run times. When the outlet turns on, the unit will run at whatever humidity you last set. This is a also a great way to avoid noise, by running the system only at night or while you're not home. We've been doing this for the past month with great success. Draining- the bucket is fine but you'll fill it quickly. We are lucky that our sump pump basin is located near by, so we just routed the included drain hose to it. No more emptying water. Take care if you use a different hose- if the inner diameter of the hose is too small it may not drain properly. Although it's stiff and ugly, the included hose works best. Noise- It's not super loud but it's also not quite. Great white noise to sleep with, but you wouldn't want to watch a movie with this thing in the same room. Doesn't matter to us, since it's in a basement mechanical room. Overall- I actually regret not getting one of the whole-house units and running a single duct myself. It would have freed up mounting options (hang from basement ceiling) and allowed us to direct the dry air to specific locations. But that's not this units fault, so I can't really knock any stars off. ... show more

  • Works very well!
Size: 4000 Sq. Ft with Alexa
This works very well for drawing the moisture out of the air. My basement was about 80% humidity and after running it for 24 hours it was down to 40% humidity. You do have to empty the holding tank a lot at first but it was amazing how much water it produced. I did order an extra hose to attach to see if I could get it to drain into my shower but I couldn’t get it to work. I am okay with that because once you get the humidity stabilized you don’t have to empty the water as often. It is easy to use and since I have it on carpet I did buy a rubber mat to set it on in case it did leak, but I have not had any problems with it in the 6 months I have had it. Overall I am very satisfied and happy that I can control the humidity in the basement. ... show more

  • Good value!
Size: (NEW) 4000 Sq. Ft
Great size for our house. We had the previous model that was slightly easier to empty the reservoir but overall this is a very similar new model. Works well and is very quiet.
