The media could not be loaded. We use this strainer to filter the honey right out of the extractor and then to strain the cappings. I use a large pretzel plastic jar and flip the jar on top of the strainer over a bucket and get most of the honey out with no extra work. Just flip it and forget it. 2 days later, 90% of the honey has drained out. What is left is ready to be rendered.

I bought this to strain my large batches of bone broth before pressure canning and it worked excellently for the purpose. The small filter size kept herb and vegetable particles out of the finished broth. It's not achieving a perfectly clear broth, but that's fine with me because I don't aim for that. I imagine it would perform well as a honey strainer although I don't have bees so won't be testing. It was very easy to clean, I did wash and dry by hand, and it stores quite compactly with the rest of my canning supplies.

The screen part of this does not cover the entire mouth of a five-gallon bucket, although the frame will hold it over the mouth well enough. This gives the beekeeper less room to work, and prevents as much honey from being processed at any given time. However, it's very sturdy and easy to clean.

does the trick. i like to run several at a time so when the first one gets full, i can swap it out for a different bucket while that drains and i can clean it off. usually have 3-4 strainers running at a time
