Size: Battery Box 16 Amps
Mine arrived today. The cost compared to what you get is a little disappointing. The main negative is how the bottom and top connect together. I simply don't trust the handle with a heavy battery as the strap is the only thing holding the two together. The handle has a metal plate on the inside of the top cover so I'll give them credit for that but I'll pick up the box using the end handles/grips until I can fabricate a metal band to augment the strap. I have an Optima BlueTop Marine\RV Battery that weighs 43.5 lbs. I wanted a battery box with USB outlets as I've used the battery mostly for phones, tablets and laptops than anything that requires me to hook up the Dewalt 1000W inverter I bought with it to provide 120VAC. Lithium Iron Magnesium Phosphate batteries weigh about 15 lbs but are still very expensive. Non lithium batteries are going to weigh from 40 to 60 lbs and are more likely to be used with this box. I believe that for the cost, there should be a better way to connect the two halves than with a nylon strap. One review mentioned the terminals turn when he uses the wingnuts to tighten or loosen the outside terminals. If that happens to me I plan on using epoxy on the inside terminal to affix it to the internal side of the box as it would be very inconvenient to have to use a wrench to hold the terminal from turning. Another person mentioned this should have a 50-60 AMP fuse or breaker but the listing clearly states: "single 16A circuit breaker safely protects your circuit. ( not for 60A)" so I have nothing negative to say about that. Overall, I like the box but I think it is too expensive for what you get. This is a case of "Caveat emptor" as I should have read the reviews first. I'm still happy I didn't buy an empty box and wire up the voltmeter, USB ports and 12 VDC outlets. I hope this is helpful to others.

Update 8/16/2024 I just received a new battery box from homeOn Wheels! Thank you very much, for standing by your product! I appreciate you! Would recommend this product! Not happy with this purchase. The accessories only worked for about 7 weeks after purchasing. I searched endlessly, in a sea of battery boxes, for the right battery box. This fit the bill perfectly, until the voltmeter and power taps quit working. It was the only box that would fit 2 smaller batteries, without buying a box much bigger box. It does still power the trolling motor but, frankly, I don't trust the 60-amp breaker now. The last thing I need to do is burn up my new trolling motor! To be fair, I have reached out to Homeon Wheels, for assistance. I will Defiantly update this review, whichever way this goes. I worked in electronics manufacturing, so I know sometimes a product fails, that happens. It is the way the company does about it!

I purchased two boxes...one for my inflatable pontoon boat and one for my wife's. I love the box and features...especially the two quick connect/disconnect plugs. These boxes were the perfect solution for our inflatable one-man/woman pontoon boats that we run electric trolling motors on. I modified my boat to add 1 connector at the motor and another at the battery box so I have the choice of using either one depending on my needs. After hours of modifying my boats and testing the motors my motor would not run. Blown Fuses! Why! Maybe I needed heavier gauge wire so therefore I run to my auto parts store and purchase jumper cables, cut the ends off and use and the umbilical cord. Still not working. Extremely frustrated I begin boxing up the boxes to return when I notice something different between the two boxes. My box is cross wired (image 1) from the manufacturer meaning they had the positive and negative cords reversed at the connectors. The wires within the box are too short to cut and re-run so I cross them (image 2) to the correct posts and my problems are fixed. Therefore, with all this said ....check what quality control should have caught prior to shipping. I'm giving 5 stars because love the features of this box.

The battery was easy to put in box and connect the terminals. It was water resistant for the fact the lid closed over and strapped down. It would keep rain and splashing off the battery, but if submerged water would fill up the box. I subtracted 2 stars for the following reasons. 1. No instructions. Sure, just connect the battery. But it came with screws and some other hardware. No clue as what it's for. 2. The off switch... not 100% what it does. Just for voltmeter? The trolling motor still works when box is turned off. So far it gets the job done. But wish they took the time to explain it to a first grader.

Nice features and the voltage display is a plus! Only draw back is the strap that holds the top on for carrying. If it is not pulled tight, real tight, the top will flop off if using the top handle to pick it up. When picking the box up the side handles are recommended. Aside from that it is exactly what I expected.
