  • Helped skin heal from an oxyacetylene burn .(OMG!)
GREAT pads! I bought these for my brother who is a 40 year long ASE certified mechanic after he called me one afternoon to relay he had burned his hand with an oxyacetylene welder/torch. He isnt stupid.it was a matter of a lack of visual blockage caused by a shift of the protective eye wear. Anyways.he worked thru it after it happened. He's a die hard. Called me when he got home wondering 'what' he should put on it. (OMG!) He should have gone to an urgent Care Center ASAP..but he didn't. I can't believe his boss didn't make him go ASAP. I mean that is a Workmans Comp. situation. Anyways. I'd previously sent him some 'super silver' wound gel...oh .he had forgotten about that.... so I told him to use that. the picture he sent was 'ugly'...raw skin right across that soft fleshy part of his thumb on his right hand. So he used the silver wound gel and I immediately got on amazon after talking to him and ordered these bandages for him. They would get to him the next day. He had used regular bandaids (when he had taken care of it at work) which had been challenging to remove when he got home.... (OMG! He is lucky his sister is as intelligent as she is!) The 'shop' has NO EMERGENCY products for situations such as the one my brother had. (OMG!...WTH?????) Anyays.so my brother rec'd these the next day. He LOVED them! 'life saver'.VERY COMFORTABLE and they allowed him to continue to do his job. He is a DIE HARD. He loves what he does. He wore these wrapped gauze and then put a fingerless Mechanix glove on.said it worked like a charm. The severe burn healed SUPR NICE! Can barely tell he experienced this unfortunate incident. Sadly.it didn't keep him from getting a staph infection. So within a week and a half he was in urgent care wondering what these painful 'boils' were that he was getting on his abdomen. So he was out of work for 3 days because of that. Severe burns are nothing to mess with. PLEASE! Go to the freaking doctor! ... show more

  • Works great!
I burned myself on an oven rack at the height of the pandemic, so couldn’t go to the hospital. It was only a few inches long, but very deep. Blistered, turned white, and blister popped all immediately and it didn’t hurt nearly as badly as it should have so I knew it was pretty bad. By reading abstracts on PubMed and trial pages of medical websites, I did my best to classify the burn, clean and debride it, and choose a dressing for it. I found a study that said hydrogel was promising for small deep partial thickness burns like mine and ordered these. I cleaned the wound and reapplied a new dressing 2-3x a day for a few weeks. I never developed an infection and now a few years later, my scar is visible and probably always will be, but it’s flat and the color is fading a lot. If I’d been able to go to the doctor and get treatment there, I might’ve been given stitches and have even less of a scar. But I credit the hydrogel dressings for helping it heal as well as it did under the circumstances! ... show more

  • Great Bandage for Turf Burns
Bought these to use on turf burns from soccer. They work really well, but they have to be used with either a wrap or under another bandage as they do not stay put on their own. That is the only thing I didn't like, but would definitely buy again.

  • Works great
I got a frying pan burn and put one on and it really helped sooth the burn. I kept on till the burn was healed it really seemed to keep the pain away. Would buy again.

  • Better than 2nd Skin
I burned my thumb really bad in December and I still can't go without having some sort of burn pad on it. I've tried this brand as well as 2nd Skin and this one is so much better. The first problem with this is that when it dries out it gets really hard, like the whole thing turns into a hard plastic in whatever shape it dries. The 2nd Skin kind gets jagged around the edges and hurts because it scratches, whereas this one just dries out. You can get it wet and it will soften back up. The difficulty with that property it is if you have it submerged or under running water for any amount of time, let's say you do dishes or take a shower, it will literally crumble to pieces. Both brands of these burn pads you can remove the plastic cover on both sides and they're exactly the same on both, so you can cut them into whatever shape you need and flip them around or whatever you need to do to make it the right size and shape. But then you have to figure out how to keep it covered so it doesn't dry out so fast. The problem with that is the plastic isn't flexible so if you have an knuckle, it's impossible to get it perfect. If you have a burn on a place that's flat, these problems probably wouldn't be as bad. The other difficult part is I need something to keep it in place without drying it out and still be flexible enough to use my thumb. Nothing works perfectly. I've been cutting up rubber gloves and wrapping that with bandage tape or the stretchy kind of ace bandage type stuff. It's good enough. Everything has to be cut and shaped individually. Overall I highly recommend care science hydrogel burn pads. I just wish the flexibility wasn't lost to the plastic covering it. ... show more

  • Great product
I used this for a crush injury that left a open wound on my ankle, was extremely painful and not healing, Did everything doctors told me, nothing was working, I tried a few other types of these pads until I found these. cleaned the wound and fit this pad to size and lightly covered, in a few hours the nerve pain had dropped about 30 to 40 percent to a tolerable level, wound is healing. very pleased ... show more
