    • Heavy Industrial Gray Machine
If this dehumidifier was on Bonanza, it would be Hoss rather than Little Joe. I was more than a little hesitant to buy an expensive dehumidifier, but we were having leaks inside a bathroom wall, including old standing water in one wall cavity, and I expected major teardowns before the project was finished. We've had two other dehumidifiers over the last 10 years that over time became less and less effective, so I was looking to upgrade. The machine weighs close to 80 pounds and has the bulk of a tall mini-fridge. Despite this, it hums like a large cat, which is to say noticeably but not intrusively. Behind a closed door, you can forget that it's running at all. The machine uses a long hose that can be draped into a ready sink basin and has an internal pump that pushes water up to 16 feet. When you're ready to move the hoss to the next room, there's a drain button that pumps the remaining water through the hose, allowing the thing to be moved without leaving a mess. There's also a front panel that holds a filter that can be hand-washed. My only concern with the beast was that the wheels appeared cambered, but on further thought, that seems to be a feature rather than a flaw. All-in-all, we're very pleased with this new dehumidifier. It looks no-frills, but we're more interested in results that keep our house from rotting, molding, and collapsing than shiny things that go beep. ... show more

Garbage. Same guts as the cheap units. It lasted 1 year (just past warranty). Save yourself the money and just buy whatever is on sale. It looks impressive, but that's it. If this was a cheap unit, I'd give it two stars but given the price this should not be on anyone's short list.

    • A company that does right by their customer!
If you are like me and look through the reviews when choosing which product/company to buy from (especially for large purchases) please take note that this company was excellent to work with! We purchased this unit to lower the humidity in our basement work room. We were very content upon unboxing, the unit was nice looking and the large wheels made it very easy to move around, setting it up was extremely simple, however the unit did not perform as expected, from what we assume is from some sort of defect with the compressor. (Please don't let that discourage you, it can happen with any product). We made a call and were able to speak with a c.s. rep that was extremely friendly and walked us through a few trouble shooting methods, after giving the unit time to perform we noticed it still was not lowering our humidity as we expected. We called back several times and it went a voice service (slightly frustrating but no biggie). I then decided to send a message via the Amazon app and received a reply very quickly. After a few back and forth messaging (all very prompt responses from the company) they not only made it right by issuing my immediate refund but went above and beyond in providing the easiest possible solution for return shipping on my behalf. I would absolutely recommend choosing this company if you are looking for one that does right by their customers (which lets face it, can sometimes be a little hard to come by these days) Very impressed and beyond satisfied. ... show more

    • Working great despite shipping damage.
Received a destroyed box in my driveway. The top panel was bent and I had to take it apart and bend it back for the filter panel to fit back on. It still has visible damage but I am more concerned with the unit's function. After a day of working in a cold, unfinished, wet basement at 72% humidity it has removed more than five gallons of water. It works way better than the best homeowner one I got at a big box store. I hope the damage is just superficial and the unit lasts because it works great! ... show more

    • EXCELLENT Customer Service
We had an air conditioner in our attic leak water on our hardwood floors and called in Servpro. Found out how much they were charging per day for a dehumidifier and fans so I ordered items and replace Servepro. The hOmeLabs Commercial Grade dehumidifier did a great job helping dry out our floors. Once we were finished with the job we bought it for we took it to another house we own and put it in the basement running it full time. After several months it froze up and we couldn't get it to work properly again. I called the customer service number in the instruction manual and talked to an acutal person. After determining that we did would we should and could to get it to work without freezing up they said they would send a new replacement on and we could discard or have the original unit repaired. Within several hours I had the shipping notification of the new replacement dehumidifier. I am sure it will work like the original one did before freezing up and just cannot get over how the representative was so helpful and nice on the phone.     • Use for humidity control for musical instruments
I've had this unit for a few months so longevity is yet unknown. It is a significant improvement over units sold at big box stores for home use, albeit at a higher cost. The humidity sensor is reasonably accurate so the devices cycles on/off as needed to maintain desired humidity level. Noise level is on the low side of moderate. The integral condensate pump works as intended. In summary, the device functions as advertised and meets my needs.     • Breeze to setup, quiet running, total automated operation
Attach the handle, plug it in, power up and set to the desired humidity level and the system does the rest; very quiet in my opinion. Of course I have it in the basement so I don't hear it all the time. I did also buy a separate humidity tester for an extra $10 and that is showing that the humidity level achieved is actually below what the humidity detector on the machine is saying. I believe that the separate device is more accurate, so glad I bought that extra little piece. ... show more
