    • Affordable Modern Piano Lamp and good customer service
Just replaced my broken old bulky piano lamp for this slimline LED light. This modern lamp is great! Since it is LED it does not get hot like my old lamp. It has adjustable intensity and can be adjusted to light up in the exact place your music needs to be seen. When we first plugged it in the plug behind the piano I thought it was broken because did not see the switch and thought maybe it was supposed to come on just from being plugged in. I took it to another plug and started looking for the switch and finally touched the right end of the light casing and like magic the light not only came on but became brighter with each touch. I looked at other lights online Which were 4 times the cost. Being an amateur I could not see spending so much. As I opened this i was pleasantly surprised at the fact that the intensity was adjustable and the base was heavy. The only thing that I would change would be tunneling the wiring through the base so it is not noticeable. After I had this lamp for awhile, I broke the adapter that plugs into the wall when I pushed the piano back against the wall. After contacting the company, Focus Lighting and verifying what kind of plug needed to be replaced they sent me a replacement plug at no charge to me even though I was at fault for breaking it. That is the kind of customer service I like! ... show more

    • Nice looking, solid, works well
The lamp features three brightness levels, but I use it only on the brightest. The light quality is good. I have two minor complaints, but they are due to my particular circumstances. First, the lamp extends only 1 1/2 inches beyond the edge of the base. Due to the design of my piano, which has a fairly massive top and cove molding, I position the base to extend about 1/2 inch beyond the front of the top so as to light the entire page of music. The base is heavy enough that this is of no concern and there's no danger of it tipping off. Second, the cord measures about 64 inches, which is a little shorter than I need for my situation. That's easily remedied by a short extension cord. Overall, I like the unit and should have bought it years ago. ... show more

    • Not a steady light, mine flickers maddeningly
EDITED 8 months later: I ended up replacing this light, the flickering was way too annoying, and I could not position the head so that it didn't shine into my eyes while playing. What a disappointment, and this was SO expensive!!!! I ended up getting this one, it's perfect for my upright piano and would also work great on a grand! The light is slightly crooked when seen from the front, as if it wasn't bent properly when made. I've adjusted it as best I can, but I'm afraid to go further because I don't want to break it. Also, the screw that is supposed to tighten the neck in place does almost nothing. Even tightening it as much as I can, it still freely swings around if moved. Luckily I don't often move it. The biggest issue I have is that the light itself flickers almost all the time while I'm playing, and it can be distracting and annoying. I like the brightness and light color more than my LED lamp, but the flickering really drives me a little nuts. Not sure I'll keep using it. ... show more

I bought this after reading a review on use for organ. So far I am very pleased. I like the feature of turning off and on and brightness. It has 3 levels of brightness . Just tap lamp once to turn on then 2 more levels of brightness, and a 3rd tap turns it off. I was concerned about the fact there is no bulb to replace so only leave it on while in use. I bought this July 2018. Also the height is good as it is tall enough even for sheet music. ... show more
