I have chronic pain due to various reasons, including an inflammatory immune disorder. I've been on the treadmill daily and needed something to help with recovery. My target areas are lower back, hips, neck/shoulders, and calf muscles. I've not had to use the straps as my spouse uses this on me. It feels like getting an actual deep-massage. I had to send this back although I had great hopes that it would work. I'm petite, 5ft and 95 pounds. After reading the reviews I thought this Gentle Touch Gel Massager would do the trick. However, it was too hard on me.

This one is great, the nubs are not the hard hard plastic like other massagers. Use it weekly for neck and shoulder pain.
