Replaced a Homedics massager that finally gave up the ghost after 10 years of use. I use it 2-3 times a week. If you're looking for a HOT heated massager, I wouldn't recommend this unit; but that doesn't bother me in the least. I like the deep, adjustable vibrations this unit provides.

Great massager but when used daily it lasts just over a year. Where the cord goes into the unit, it shorts out over time. Still worth it, I’m on my 3rd one. I use it for about 45 mins every night.

The media could not be loaded. My model is the older one where the 2 knobs that massage are further apart. I bought this when I worked at a factory and had horrendous back pain. I sat in a kitchen chair and I was able to massage my own back. It's heavy but it still works. One thing you should not do is hang it over your shoulder by hanging on to the cord. That's a sure way to damage the cord. Only hang onto it by the handle. If I needed it in a certain spot I could put a throw pillow behind me, put the massager between my back and the pillow. Then I would lean against it. It really felt nice. It has an auto shut-off. It stops after around 10 or 15 minutes. The heat button makes no difference, so I don't use that part. I always run mine as high as it goes. The funny thing was my cat would sit at my feet and stare at me. So I put him on a kitchen chair and gave him a massage too. That cat loved it. Just don't rub it on their bones or spine, only use it on muscle. Since then every time he hears me start using it he comes running. It's the funniest thing I've seen. Who would have thought a cat would want a massage? After my other cat saw that, he asked for a massage too. ... show more

Good for covering a wider area (both shoulders and width of lower back) and the cushioned balls are very comfortable against the body. The vibrations are strong and can get deep into the muscle. The heat feature doesn't work at all but I didn't require this when I purchased this item. I have an older model of this massager. The best improvement is that there's no gap between the massager balls and the main part of the massager - won't get fingers pinched with the newer version. ... show more

I bought my first Homedics massager about 25 years ago and it's been my go-to ever since. The first two lasted about 15 years each before the mechanical on-off switch died. There was a second one with an infinite adjustment level. The new one is a single 4-position electronic switch with a heat switch. I don't care for the switching very much and I can't get the very low speed that was previously available but it doesn't affect the quality of the massager. Hopefully the unit lasts as long as the previous ones have. Homedics massagers give a far superior massage than any other units out there, particularly better than the single head guns that are so popular. It just affects a wider area and so the effect is greater. Pro-tips: 1] Don't use it in one area for too long at a time or it could make the muscle more sore. Anyone who has overdone it with a professional masseuse knows what I'm talking about. 2] Consider using it on your sinuses. It seems counterintuitive to apply this banger to your cranium, but it will stun your sinuses into letting go the same way it loosens up a muscle. I find it helpful to hold it by the head of the massager so it doesn't bounce and that can be painful. If even this is too much, consider putting one thumb on each of the heads and use the thumbs. While it doesn't generally bother me to use it straight, if I've let it get too tender, I will often start with the thumbs method to start the loosening process. ... show more
