The media could not be loaded. Edit 1/12/22 - The seller responded to our inquiry and sent out a replacement unit that seems to be operating just fine so far. One star docked for initial issues, but great customer service! First off, this unit looks very nice. We hung it on the wall instead of cutting it into the wall as we wanted to play with different mounting locations before committing. The fact that it is deeper then a standard interior wall also was a concern. One of the first things we noticed was the grinding noise many talk about, which has to be caused by the rotating rod that simulates the flames. We still use it often and enjoy it. Another nuisance we found was that every time you turn it on, it defaults to C for the temp scale. The remote and front panel have a way to change this, and the manual makes it sound like the setting will stick, but it doesn't. Now our biggest concern with the issue is that yesterday we were in our room, and the unit turned on completely by itself. We don't have any other devices in there that use an IR remote like others have mentioned. There was no input and the unit turned on. What is even more odd, is that no indicators on the front panel were on. The only thing that turned on was the heater and blower. This could pose a HUGE safety concern if you don't regulate what's around it. We now are in a situation where we have to unplug it while not in use to feel comfortable with it. Edit 12/23/21: Well, the unit did it again. this time it turned on at 4:30 AM, completely on it's own, and woke is up. We have contacted the seller and they responded right away asking us to email them a video directly, which we did, and no resolution. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This was a big purchase for me so I wanted to get it right. I was researching insert fireplaces for over two months. There weren't any that I found in stores so I had to take a chance online. I still like to touch and feel my purchases so this was a big deal for me. I decided on this one. It has been in use for 3 weeks send fit my needs snd space perfectly! Packaging and Shipping- Arrived a day earlier than expected, no complaints there. Package was cared for when wrapped. No parts were broken and there was some foam to protect the sides. It was a heavy lift, not good for a single woman unless you have a dolly. Design - Very modern and dimensions are according to what's listed. You can mount to the wall and it won't be very noticeable or you can place in insert. It is NOT flesh mount. I kept the logs and added the crystals. It's so nice! Heat Output - Room is sizeable due to open floor plan (see photo). I didn't purchase to be the only heat source. When I have the heat and Central HVAC unit on, it gets quite warm. You can turn off heat output if needed. My unit does not make random noises when on. It is a slight humming sound that can not be heard over volume level three-four from my TV remote. Remote - Play with it a little and you can do whatever you want. It doesn't come with directions so you have to just sit with it and play for a bit. You can change the temperature, color display, flame level, etc. (see video) Funny thing, my robot vacuum is powered on by the fireplace remote. I do have to return the vaccuum to its docking station once I have my fireplace controls where I want them. If you are torn between which unit to get, this is great for the price and design.     • Great looking Electric Fireplace with a few issues

This is an update to an earlier review. I initially received a defective unit and after some back and forth with the vendor I finally received a replacement fireplace. First off, the most important thing to me was how the flame looked and I can say I'm really impressed in this regard. The Orange light setting with the logs really is awesome. I was surprised they were able to get such a nice looking flame effect from LED lights and reflective material. I really wasn't too much of a fan of any of the other colors or the crystals. Even with the white "dimming" strip they provide, it seems too much light is allowed into the front of the unit when using the crystals and it seems to wash out the flame on the screen behind it. I think maybe if they used crystals that were not completely transparent maybe it would not be as much of an issue. The heating component of the unit is nice and works as expected, but will probably not be very utilized as it would just be much more efficient to use my home's central heat. Installation was very simple, the front glass has hooks attached to the inside and slides up and off of the unit exposing mounting screw holes where the unit can be recessed into a wall. It wasn't totally clear to me how this would install prior to actually receiving the unit, it would be nice to have more detail around that prior to purchase as it could be important for someone making a decision on what to purchase. The instructions leave a lot to be desired, the detail is extremely vague and the english translation is poor. The diagrams in the instructions are pretty bad. Seems like very little effort went into producing them. There actually also seems to be some wrong information in there as well on a couple of items (one being the LCD dimming that I list as an issue below). The quality of the instructions really isn't too much of an issue as after looking at the unit for a bit it become obvious how to mount/operate it. Now the reasons for taking off a couple stars: 1) This is fairly minor but still annoying. Every time you turn the unit on it defaults to Celcius, and adds an extra step every time you turn it on to switch it back to F. It would seem fairly simple to program the unit to retain the temp units and seems like an oversight. 2) The temperature LCD readout is bright and is always ON while the unit is on. It can be fairly destracting when the room is dark to have that readout always on right under the flames. I really wish the readout would dim after a set amount of time of non-use and allow only the flame itself to be seen. It can really distract from the ambience of the flame effect. Again, seemingly a simple implementation that was probably an oversight. 3) This is the worst, I have very bad cross-talk with my LG TV remote. The TV is mounted right above the fireplace. There are multiple buttons on my LG remote that perform functions on the fireplace. For example, ever time I hit the Enter button on my TV remote it turns the unit ON/OFF. Other buttons like the menu button or the input button do things like turn the heat on or change the dimmer setting. This has been a major deal breaker for me as I can think the only solution for me will be to try an cover the remote recieved on the fireplace and just not use the remote, using only the keypad on the unit itself. I would have hoped for better R&D on common remote frequencies with consumer electronics (especially TV's) to avoid this sort of issue. All in all we really like the look of the fireplace but unfortunately there are a few items that keep me from recommending it to others. ... show more
