You need to select the right tarp for your application whether you are covering a canopy, carport, construction job, tent frame, outdoor event, yard project or wedding.[Construction]Poly Tarps are typically made of multiple layers with a woven mesh fabric sandwiched between two or more polyethylene sheets.[Reference Parameter]Tarp Thickness– This is the actual thickness of the tarp measured in mils (1/1000 of an inch). The larger the number, the thicker the tarp. Typical light weight tarps found in most retail or hardware stores are about 4~6 mils. If you are planning a heavy duty use, such as covering a carport, consider a heavy duty tarp at 10 to 12 mils. Reinforcement– Tarps have additional reinforcement around the perimeter of the tarp to help prevent ripping and tearing.Perimeter rope– This is a rope which has been sewn inside the hem at the edge of the tarp to add reinforcement strength to the tarp.Hem– The hem is formed by folding the edge of the tarp back onto the tarp and then stitching the entire hemmed area.[Warning]Flammable. I have this tarp stretched out between a deck and a dog run to give a bit of shade from the sun and a place for the dogs to go if it rains. It has been out there stretched in the sun and wind for several weeks and it has survived some hard winds, some 100 degree days of unobstructed sun, and some very hard rain. It doesn't have any tears and even though it is stretched over some metal and some wood, it doesn't seem to be damaged. It sure is likely to be okay for a camping trip. I recommend this tarp. Ive ordered these twice. For the money its the best you can get. 2 ply and strong. Worth every sent. I used to go to harbor freight for cheap tarps. Now I pay same price for a good durable green/brown covering. Some have said something about grommets, I have no idea what their issue is.

Got this tarp to cover my new chiminea. Opened the package and a grommet just fell loose out of the package. The biggest issue is that they completely missed the grommets on one edge! I would send it back, but wouldn’t you know I didn’t open the package until we were expecting a downpour. Don’t recommend ... show more

This tarp, like others I have had, is serviceable and will last a long time if I don't use it a lot and so long as I don't let it flap in the wind on the back of my pickup. It didn't work for me because I selected it too large. Eventually I will find a use for it. It will be waterproof until it begins to wear out. I assume it will have ordinary durability. It is 10 mil. I haven't had a heavy duty tarp, so I don't know if they last any longer. Compared to cotton, it is much cheaper and much more waterproof. It needs twice as many grommets. ... show more

I purchased this to divide my garage, in half, so that the front part furthest from the door, stays warm. The tarp is pretty think, and very durable. It is quite large and the dims given on line are correct. If you need a large tarp, this one is well worth the money.

Got a pair of 12x20 tarps for carport covers. One seems a little thin where it's joined in the middle. But so far so good. Nice weight.. Don't expect perfection from the eyelets, but the price was right and they work well.
