I needed something that had a sturdy top but could still be sat on comfortably AND had storage. Not only did this fit the bill but the lift top actually works to hold my iPad or laptop when needed. Decent storage compartment and the hinges on the lift are not cheap. You do have to install the legs and we couldn't see any predrilled holes. They provide you a hand tool but I recommend a drill, 12 screws by hand would have sucked. I like the color in person better than the online picture. It is a little lightweight without heavy items inside which makes opening the top difficult. I lined bottom with tile to add weight. I use in my AirBnB to store games and to use as a table top for living room dining or for aide in using laptops or tablets. Comfortable for a footrest but functional for a mug, tray, or plate. I am loving the ability to rest my feet and also use the ottoman as a desk for my laptop, board game, snack time or sorting area. Easy assembly. Sturdy enough for just me- maybe not for younger family. I may get wheels to put on instead of the legs supplied so it is easier to move around the room.
